The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Locked Mementos Walkthrough
Upon receiving the Locked Mementos Main Quest, players should headsouthout ofBreath of the Wild’s Kakariko Village, cross Kakariko Bridge, and follow the dirt road that is just beyond that bridge to traveleastward. This road will lead players through Fort Hateno and eventually toHateno Tower, which should be scaled to reveal the map of the Hateno region. Again, Stamina upgrades make climbing this tower much easier, and fans should take care to avoid the spikes as they ascend.
Players should now use their new map to travel toHateno Village. Upon entering the village, fans should activate theMyahm Agana Shrine, which is situated just behind the General Goods Shop, in order to unlock a fast-travel point. Players should then consider spending some time exploringBreath of the Wild’s Hateno Village, as there are a variety of vendors and Side Quests within this location.

After a bit of exploration, players should follow the road east through the village and make a left at the fork that they encounter to reachHateno Ancient Tech Lab. Inside this structure, fans will findPurahandSymin, and they should talk to those characters to receive an errand that centers around transferring a blue flame from the furnace in Hateno Village to the furnace in front of the lab. While this task can be completed with any wooden weapon, theTorchthat can be found within the lab makes matters simpler.
With the Torch in hand, players should exit the lab and glide down to the Hateno Village furnace to thewest. Fans should then strike the furnace’s flame with theirBreath of the WildTorchto set it ablaze, return to the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab, and strike the furnace in front to light it. Notably, there are series oflanternsthat leads from the Hateno Village furnace, through the town, and up to the lab, and players can turn those lamps into additional sources for the blue flame by lighting them along the way.
Once the lab’s furnace is lit, fans should go inside and talk toBreath of the Wild’s Purahto obtain the aforementioned Camera Rune, Album, and Hyrule Compendium. Players must now use their new Rune to take a picture of Purah, who will then instruct Link toreturn to Impain Kakariko Village. This is a great time to fast travel to the Ta’loh Naeg Shrine, provided that the fan activated it during a previous visit to Kakariko Village, and the Locked Mementos quest will be marked as complete after speaking with Impa.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Find the Fairy Fountain Walkthrough
After resolving Locked Mementos, players should exit Impa’s home, descend the stairs, and speak withPikangonear the Goddess Statue. This conversation will ultimately grant the Find the Fairy Fountain Main Quest, and fans should follow Pikango up to the Ta’loh Naeg Shrine once they have received it. From there, players should continue ahead to find the Great Fairy Fountain, which can be unlocked with 100Rupees inBreath of the Wild.
As a brief aside,Breath of the Wild’s Great Fairy Fountainsare the way by which players will upgrade their armor. While it is not strictly requisite, fans are advised to take this opportunity to improve their gear, and they should even consider going in search of upgrade materials if they do not have what is needed. Indeed, there are some fairly challenging encounters ahead, and players are more likely to survive them with higher defense.
Once a player is finished addressing their gear, they should activate the Camera Rune, photographthe Great Fairy Fountain, andreturn to Pikangonear the Ta’loh Naeg Shrine. Speaking with Pikango in this position will mark the completion of the Find the Fairy Fountain quest, and the character will now be willing to provide hints that can be used to resolve the Captured Memories quest. Players should not be too concerned about that right now, though, and they should instead focus on freeing theDivine Beasts inBreath of the Wild.
