World of Warcrafthas kicked off its annual Love is in the Air event ahead of the 2023 Valentine’s Day, introducing new limited-time quests, boss fights, and rewards, among other content. The latest in-game event is starting mere days afterBlizzard introduced a battle pass-like Trading Post featureto the ever-popular MMORPG.

Love is in the Air is a seasonal event inWorld of Warcraftthat was originally introduced in the vanilla version of the game back in 2006. Its first four iterations ran for only four days each, with Blizzard later extending its duration to two weeks in 2010, along with revamping some of its underlying mechanics. Ultimately, while its limited scope meant Love is in the Air was never widely considered among thebestWorld of Warcraftevents that Blizzard has done, that didn’t stop it from offering some of the rarest rewards in the entire game, which is also the case this time around.

True to its immediate predecessors, the 2023 edition of Love is in the Air will run until February 20. During this two-week period, players will be able to earn Love Tokens which can be traded for some limited-time holiday items like the Swift Lovebird mount and Peddlefeet, a humanoid battle pet specializing in ranged combat. A new set of daily quests is also part of the package, together withan increased drop rate for H-45 Heartbreaker, one of the rarest mounts inWorld of Warcraft.

The most attractive grinding opportunities available during Love is in the Air revolve around the Crown Chemical Co. Contraband quest, which culminates with a fight against the titular Shadowfang Keep organization. Apart from the aforementioned Heartbreaker mount, beating this quest will also provide players with an opportunity to loot some elusive gear, including the Winking Eye of Love, Hearbreak Charm, and Shard of Pirouetting Happiness.

First-timeWorld of Warcraftplayers should also keep an eye out for over a dozen achievements that can be obtained for the duration of the event. A handful of those serve as prerequisites for unlocking a meta achievement called “Fool for Love,” which awards a unique character title and is itself part of the requirements for unlocking the rare Reins of the Violet Proto-Drake mount.

AWrath of the Lich King Classicversionof Love is in the Air is also running in parallel with the main event. Alliance characters can participate in the latest iteration of these in-game festivities from Stormwind, while their Horde counterparts will want to visit Orgrimmar to get started.
