Accompanied by an appropriately chilling teaser centered around the iconic runeblade Frostmourne, the Classic experience continues in 2022 with all thecontent that madeWrath of the Lich Kingso beloved. From Death Knights and Inscription to Achievements and the Barber Shop,Classicplayers will be able to experience the expansion nearly precisely the way it used to be back in 2008.

That being said, some slight changes have been made to add quality of life improvements to player experience in a non-intrusive way. For example, whereas players had to pay real money for a more thorough appearance change, the Barber Shops inWrath of the Lich King Classicwill function much like their modern counterparts: by allowing players the ability to change their skin color, face, or even gender for a modest sum of gold.

In a similar vein, even thoughWrath of the Lich Kingintroduced the Dungeon Finder to the game, its existence has been purposefully omitted by Blizzard in theClassicversion. Understanding just how much creating social bonds means to theWorld of Warcraft Classiccommunity, this is a change that has already been met with overwhelming praise.

For players who have elected to skipThe Burning Crusade Classicor have yet to experience Classic at all, Blizzard has introduced Level 70 Boost Tokens to provide them an instant way of catching up to their friends. The boost will be available once per account and will be applicable on any character – regardless of the time they were created – who isn’t a Death Knight. Like previous Classic versions,Wrath of the Lich King Classicwill be included as part of aWorld of Warcraftsubscription.
