Although designed as a side-scrolling ARPG, the game features fast-paced combat that’s largely inspired bySekiro’s widely praised parrying mechanics, while also drawing some notable influences fromBloodborne.
Vapor World: Over The Mind is Targeting a Q4 2024 Release on Xbox Game Pass
A year and a half after AGS first teased its Microsoft collaboration on social media,Vapor Worldhas received a new trailer that confirms it as a day one release for Xbox Game Pass. Specifically, the stylish game will be joining the ID@Xbox indie publishing program, which previouslybrought many great indie games to Xbox Game Pass. While the project is still without an official release date, AGS confirmed it’s currently targeting a Q4 2024 launch.
In the meantime,Vapor Worldwill be treated to a Kickstarter campaign that’s scheduled to begin on November 28. Although many indie projects live and die by the success of their crowdfunding efforts, that ostensibly won’t be the case here, as AGS is seemingly using Kickstarter as a more engaging way to handle the game’s pre-orders. Soulslike fans intrigued by the project can currently try out theVapor Worlddemo on Steam. This early access version of the game includes a prologue chapter and two additional episodes, which take approximately five hours to beat, according to the developer’s official estimate.
Vapor World: Over The Mind Minimum PC System Requirements
The finished game will come with one more episode and a dedicated epilogue chapter that should more than double the demo’s length, as AGS is aiming to deliver an experience that’s about 12 hours long in total. The developer will also be adding a Boss Rush mode and character customization toVapor Worldfollowing its release on Steam andXbox Game Pass. Both additions will be free, as AGS has no immediate plans to offer paid post-launch content for the game. The studio did leave open the possibility of eventually putting out some extra stages and bosses as DLC, depending on how its upcoming crowdfunding campaign turns out.
PlayStation and Nintendo Switch ports ofVapor Worldare also in the pipeline, but won’t be released until its PC and Xbox versions are out. This game might not be the only upcoming title that will take some cues from FromSoftware’s previous hits, as one recently surfaced leak suggested that evenAssassin’s Creed Redis taking a few pages out ofSekiro’s book.
