Over the past several years, Grammy award-winning artist T-Pain has made a name for himself as a video game streamer. The “Blame It” singer has been known to play a wide selection of games, spanning just about every major genre. His latest muse appears to beForza Horizon 5, in which T-Pain did an impressive impression of the late comedian Chris Farley.
Launching just about a month ago, Playground Games’Forza Horizon 5has been met with largely rave reviews, with many fans online claiming it to be the best in the series so far. However, the racing game has suffered frommajor online multiplayer and co-op problems, something the developers are actively working to fix.

Clipped from his regular Twitch stream and posted onto the subreddit r/ForzaHorizon, the video shows T-Pain in the middle ofForza Horizon 5’s Resorvorio Sprint race. Although theForzaseries is known for its supercar brands, T-Pain is instead driving a van - the Ford Supervan 3, to be exact. Leading the pack with seconds to go, T-Pain starts cracking up at his van beating out supercars, quoting Chris Farley’s famousSNLcharacter Matt Foley’s line of “Livin' in a van down by the river!” He repeats the line between laughter as he crosses the finish line.
The iconic line is extremely applicable in his situation, and anyone old enough to know the line is sure to at least crack a smile. T-Pain is known for his bubbly and boisterous personality while streaming, although he doesn’t shy away from getting more serious when push comes to shove. Earlier this year, a story went viral about T-Painwiping an entire team of racistCall of Dutyplayersafter being harassed via voice chat. After hearing hateful and racist speech in a lobby, T-Pain puts the hammer down and kills the entire team single-handedly.
T-Pain certainly seems to appreciate Chris Farley’s famous persona, and he isn’t the only one. Ubisoft’s popular titleThe Divisionalso contains a Chris Farley Easter Egg, or rather one of his character Matt Foley. Players who approach an NPC named Victor Wright will discover his details state, “lives in a van down by the river.” The humorous Easter Egg and T-Pain’s enthusiastic impression go to show what a lasting impact the late comedian has had.
While T-Pain may be considered an A-list celebrity, and won’t ever live in a van down by the river, his actions make him seem to be a man of the people. The artist makes royalty-free beats for streamers, a deed that even Matt Foley would likely be proud of.
Forza Horizon 5is available now on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
