Like in previous Bethesda RPGs,Starfieldalso allows players to engage with a crafting system. Variousworkbenches are available for weaponand space suit modification, and more. On top of that, chemistry is making a return in a more sci-fi fashion in the form of pharmaceutical stations.

These stations are ideal for crafting various aid products, which will come in handy when tackling the harsh environment of space and all the dangers it contains from spacers to xenos. Leveling up the respective science skills will unlock more recipes for players to craft, but for now, here are a couple that should be available fairly early on inStarfield. More will be added later on as recipes are unlocked.

8Amp (Enhancer)

A simple aid product that can be found quite commonly in the wild as well, Amp is a great product to have for players who enjoy that little extra bit of mobility. Amp buffs the player’s movement speed by +35% for 2 minutes and doubles their jumping height during that time as well.

Amp requires 2 Argon, 1 Toxin, and 1 Metabolic Agent to craft. It can come in handy for players looking to kite enemiesor run the Red Mileduring one ofStarfield’smany side quests. Either way, mobility shouldn’t be scoffed at in the game.

7Antibiotics (Medical)

Afflictions being a central side effect of exploring potentially dangerous and hazardous locations, having antibiotics around is a good plan for most players. It’s very cheap to craft, too, and treats any type of infection when used.

Players only need 1 Antimicrobial and 1 Membrane to be able to craft it. Honorable mention to its slightly beefier counterpart, Penicillin X, which can be crafted with the same items, plus 1 Metabolic Agent, and also grants a 20-point oxygen boost for players for 2 minutes.

6Infused Bandages (Medical)

Sort of an upgraded version of regular Bandages that combine the benefits of Heal Paste, these bandagesnot only treat various afflictionslike Lacerations, Puncture Wounds, or Contusions but work well against Burns and Frostbite as well. It’s a nice two-in-one item that will save time (and a fraction of inventory space).

To make it, players first need to craft 1 Bandage and 1 Heal Paste. Then, combine these two with 2 Sedatives, and they have a good survival aid item on their hands.

5Heal Paste (Medical)

Players will be subjected to various injuriesduring their adventures in the stars, including Frostbite on extremely cold planets and Burns when dealing with fire. These conditions can become more severe and impose debuffs and restrictions, which becomes annoying, especially in combat.

That’s why having some Heal Paste handy for these two afflictions is a good idea. Heal Paste is fairly cheap to craft, too, with only 1 Analgestic and 1 Membrane needed to make it. Anyone engaging in some planetary exploration will want to make a few of these.

4Pick-Me-Up (Enhancer)

One of the greatest dilemmas is how much loot is available inStarfield. It won’t be long before the player character becomes encumbered, and while having a follower around can help mitigate that issue for a bit, it’s nice to have a second backup when looting around.

Pick-Me-Up buffs the player’s carrying capacity significantly for 15 minutes. During this time, it’s possible to carry an additional 50 units of stuff. It’s best to make use of this when returning to the ship to avoid draining the oxygen bar constantly and making walking a chore. Craft it by using 1 Metabolic Agent, 2 Aqueous Hematite, and 1 Membrane.

3Red Trench (Enhancer)

Who doesn’t love a bit of extra damage resistance in a pinch? Sometimes, the enemy will be overwhelming, and the best response is to survive longer by buffing damage resistance. That’s where Red Trench comes in, by buffing the player’s melee damage by 40% for 3 minutes and also granting them +300 damage resistance for that duration.

It works best with melee builds, which admittedly are a bit of a niche (but a fun one) in Bethesda’s RPGs. Those who love to goup close and personal against their foesshould make use of it, and craft it with 1 Tetrafluoride, 1 CQB-X, and 1 BattleStim.

2Redamp (Enhancer)

Yet another powerful buffing agent is the Redamp, which combines the might of regular Amp and the previous Red Trench enhancer. This cocktail is a 2-minute powerhouse, which grants +50 melee damage, +50 movement speed, doubles jumping height, and buffs damage resistance by 400 points.

This is the perfect tool for those really challenging fights when there are tons of enemies that might be higher level as well. Craft it by using 2 Mercury, 1 Amp, and 1 Red Trench.

1Snake Oil (Medical)

Despite having a name that might raise suspicion, Snake Oil is a handy aid item in Starfield that has the ability to “purge toxins” in the body, according to the in-game description. Indeed, it does solve a bunch of complications, including Radiation Poisoning, Poisoning, Brain Injury, Hernia, Concussion, Heatstroke, Hypothermia, and Lung Damage.

Moreover, it grants players a moderate +20 boost on oxygen recovery for two minutes. Thanks to its wide range, Snake Oilcan come in handy in multiple different situations, so keep it aroundand craft it if possible. It requires 1 Chlorine, 2 Metabolic Agent, and 1 Sedative to make.
