The ceremony was held earlier this week, announcing the winners based on user votes. Thedirector ofSonic Frontiers, Morio Kishimoto, commented on this momentous victory on Twitter, where he notes that it was a huge honor. He pointed out that before the game’s release, the game won at the Japan Game Awards in the Future Division, which was an award received for a game that was highly anticipated by fans who played it at Tokyo Game Show. Kishimoto states that seeingFrontierswin the award from Famitsu was very encouraging, and thanked the many fans for their support. In response, many fans were also excited to see the game win this award, congratulating Kishimoto and Sonic Team.
The officialSonic the HedgehogJapanese Twitter account stated that there is DLC planned to be coming out this year, all in big free updates. Kishimoto expressed his gratitude by promising that the next update forSonic Frontierswill be made to reward fans for their continued support. Fans are anticipating thatthe first DLC Wave forSonic Frontierswill be dropping soon, likely a part of a Sonic Central event in the near future.
