With a new PS5 event set to take place on Wednesday, many are hoping for even more reveals. Some have leaped to recent tweets from Cory Barlog as a sign of an pendingGod of Warreveal, while others have putted at rumors and leaks about thePS5’s priceand release date. Of course, no one knows where and when announcements like these will appear, which makes the latest leak ofSaints Row 5all the more curious.
As with all leaks, it should be taken with a grain of salt, as its source cannot be confirmed. However, when a fake leaker “reveals” a ton of details, it’s usually easy to see through it as something fake. However, thisSaints Row 5leak actually makes some sense, and nothing stands out as a red flag.

The Saints Row 5 Leak
While many asked whereSaints Row 5would take place afterSR4, this leak gives a surprisingly succinct answer. It continues on fromSR3, withSR4andGat Out of Hellbeing retconned as aSaintsTV show. Given their popularity, it actually makes some sense that they would have their own TV show, and the leak even highlights that there are no superpowers in this game presumably because this show made superheroes out of the Saints.
In this continuation, the Saints have become an evil corporate empire, with them being described as “soulless.” Part of this is due to Johnny’s death, which is an interesting and realistic twist of fate. As a new protagonist, players will be taking on the Saints including fan-favorite characters like the Boss, while facing off with other gangs like the Wolf Pack. The Boss wears a mask to muffle their voice in order to hide their appearance in order to allow players to see them as they wish. It appears it’ll be some battle of sorts over Stilwater, which has expanded to include a countryside and new islands.

Basically, players are designed to see the Saints from the average joe angle, where their violent acts have come at a cost to so many, but they have often been glorified. There are multiple character customization options, with a slider for every body part and bodily censorship similar toSaints Row 3. Weapon customization is said to be improved, it is said to have 4-player co-op, graphics comparable toSaints Row 3 Remastered, and a style of free roam multiplayer not unlikeGrand Theft Auto Online.
What We Know About Saints Row 5
Officially, next to nothing is known aboutSaints Row 5, but there have been details that give this “leak” the bare minimum of credibility. For example, while many initially thoughtSR3 Remasteredwas Volition’s promisedSaints Rowannouncement for 2020, Volition did explicitly reaffirmSaint Row 5’s development. Because of this and the dwindling time, a proper reveal coming soon isn’t out there. It doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll be at the PS5 event on Wednesday, but it’s not impossible either.
Secondly, while the leaker suggested a reveal could happen soon, they also seemingly emphasized that it is a 2021-2022 release date. Reports have indicated thatSaints Row 5may have been internally delayed, so once again, this lines up.
Again, it’s worth mentioning that drawing these connections is the bare minimum. This could easily be made up by someone tired of waiting forSaints Row 5news, but if that’s the case, they took the time and care to really create a believable leak. After all, it is indeed believable, meaning some fans may be excited to see if this comes to fruition soon. Fans should always temper expectations when it comes to leaks, but it’ll be interesting to see if something comes from this or if it eventually fizzles out.
