Last month, Capcom was targeted in a ransomware attack that saw many of its future projects leaked online. This included something calledResident Evil Outrage, which will supposedly launch at the end of 2021. What exactly this project is remains to be seen, but now it appears as though the game may feature a character from the originalResident EvilandResident Evil Zero, one Rebecca Chambers.
This is according to AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem, who is known for having inside information on theResident Evilfranchise. According to their information,Resident Evil Outrage, which will potentially be retitled toResident Evil: Revelations 3, may feature Rebecca Chambers in the starring role. Evidently, the game will likely be released for the Nintendo Switch as a timed-exclusive, but will eventually make its way to other platforms as well.

Fans interested should take this information with a massive grain of salt, but Dusk Golem’s record speaks for itself. They have accurately leaked plenty ofResident Evilnews in the past, including major details about theupcomingResident Evil 8that turned out to be true. Even so, it’s always possible that plans have changed or that their information is incorrect, so fans should keep their expectations in check.
Rebecca Chambers is one of the originalResident Evilplayable characters, with players spending a short stint of the originalResident Evilgame in her shoes. At some point during the course of the originalResident Evil,Chris Redfieldfinds himself poisoned, and so Rebecca, a trained medic, takes it upon herself to heal him. Control reverts back to Chris after players manage to complete this little side quest of sorts.
Capcom made Rebecca playable again inResident Evil Zero, the prequel to the original game that was originally released as a GameCube exclusive. InResident Evil Zero, it’s revealed that Rebecca managed to survive her early encounters with Umbrella’s monsters thanks to some help from escaped convict Billy Coen, and their budding friendship is a major focus of the game’s story. The last time Rebecca made a canon appearance in theResident Evilseries was the CG movieResident Evil: Vendetta.
If aResident EvilSwitch game is indeed coming in late 2021 as expected, then fans should hear about it sometime in the middle of the year. Right now, Capcom’s marketing is focused on pushingResident Evil 8, which makes sense as that game is due for release well before the rumoredResident Evil Outrageproject. If things go as planned and all of this information is true, then it an announcement should come at some point afterResident Evil 8’s release date.
