Gameloft’sDisney Dreamlight Valleyhas quickly risen to prominence for fans of cozy gaming despite still being in its Early Access period. To many,Disney Dreamlight Valleyseamlessly combines Disney and Pixar personalitieswhile allowing for expressive designs and an engaging storyline. There is plenty of content to keep players busy, but there are still quite a few Royal Tools that could be added to the game.
To some people’s disappointment, the current count of Royal Tools has stayed the same sinceDisney Dreamlight Valleywas released in September 2022. At the moment, only five exist in the game at the moment: Camera, Shovel, Fishing Rod, Pickaxe, and Watering Can. While Gameloft has not commented specifically on if more Royal Tools will be added to the game,Disney Dreamlight Valleyis promising a massive update by June of this year, which will hopefully see more additions.

Dreamlight Valley Could Benefit From New Tools
It’s no secret that the Disney life sim shares similar features to games likeStardew Valley,Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town,and theAnimal Crossingfranchise. As such, it could pay dividends ifDisney Dreamlight Valleytook inspiration fromAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsin regard to its tool kit. After all, the latestAnimal Crossinggame is no longer receiving updates from Nintendo which means Gameloft could capitalize.
One of the most obvious Royal Tool additions could take the form of a ladder.The ladder inAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsis one of the few tools that cannot be broken after too much use and makes it easier for players to get around. A ladder makes sense forDisney Dreamlight Valleybecause otherwise, players have to use paths and stairways.
A slingshot is another tool that could make an appearance, though how Gameloft could implement it in the game could be entirely unique. There is no combat so using it to hit opponents likethe Humble Slingshot fromStardew Valleywouldn’t work.Animal Crossing: New Horizonsplayers use the slingshot to pop presents out of the air floating around the island butDisney Dreamlight Valleydoesn’t have anything similar to that either. Still, a slingshot could be another way to knock fruits from trees or break rocks or destroy debris.
IfDisney Dreamlight Valleyis interested in letting its player base collect critters other than feeding them and gaining their favor, adding a net could be a fun feature. The game could allow people to catch insects or even fis,with the net like inAnimal Crossinggamesbut doesn’t necessarily need to have a museum dedicated to showcasing the creatures. A net could also be an interesting tool to use during a quest if the story needs it.
Terraforming may be a bit of a stretch for Gameloft’s Disney game since it already allows for quite the customization of the valley and inside a player’s house but could be an interesting option regardless.Transforming the land inAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsdoesn’t involve any actual tools but instead needs a permit.Disney Dreamlight Valleycould implement terraforming via a physical tool like a spade, though it shouldn’t be used the same as the Shovel.
In any case, theupdate forDisney Dreamlight Valleyshould be arriving soonand is confirmed to be adding umbrellas, though this will likely be for cosmetic purposes. Whether more Royal Tools are on the way is still uncertain, but fans of the game should be looking forward to new customization options regarding furniture and clothing.
