It seemsResident Evil 4fans aren’t thrilled about the game’s representation at the latest PlayStation Showcase event, with many upset that there was no information on Ada Wong’s Separate Ways campaign. TheResident Evil 4remake launched earlier this year to rave reviews, but it didn’t escape criticism.Much of the criticism aimed at theResident Evil 4remake had to do with a lack of game modes that were featured in past versions of the game. The originalResident Evil 4had Assignment Ada and Mercenaries at launch, while the PS2 re-release added the popular Separate Ways campaign to the mix. WhileMercenaries has since been added to theResident Evil 4remake, Assignment Ada and Separate Ways are still nowhere to be found.RELATED:Resident Evil 4 Fan Creates Amazing Oil Painting of the Game’s VillageSomeResident Evilfans had hoped to get news aboutSeparate Ways DLCat the PlayStation Showcase, but whileResident Evil 4was at the show, the Ada Wong side adventure wasn’t mentioned at all. Instead, theResident Evil 4focus at the PlayStation Showcase was on the game’s VR mode, which looks impressive but is still without a solid release date. There were enough disgruntledResident Evilfans upset about the lack of Separate Ways at the PlayStation Showcase to get “Separate Ways” trending on Twitter shortly after the conclusion of the PlayStation Showcase.
There is some datamined evidence that futureResident Evil 4remake updatesor DLC will add Separate Ways eventually, but nothing official has been announced by Capcom. Considering this, fans may want to keep their expectations in check. For now, allResident Evil 4fans can count on in terms of future content is the eventual VR mode.
TheResident Evil 4remake VR modeis expected to be a free update whenever it comes. Capcom’s previousResident Evil 4 VRgame remains one of the highest-rated virtual reality titles to date, and there’s little reason to believe that theResident Evil 4remake VR mode won’t be as good. It will giveResident Evil 4fans a new way to experience the remake, complete with a first-person perspective and reworked controls, but they’ll need a PlayStation VR2 headset handy if they want to check out.
Still,Resident Evil 4fans with a PlayStation VR2 may find that the VR mode is exactly what they need to get more time out of the game. Those who have alreadybeaten theResident Evil 4remake on the highest difficultywith the highest rank may be starved for moreREexperiences, so hopefully VR can tide them over while they wait for news on potential Separate Ways DLC.
Resident Evil 4is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
