TheResident Evil 3remake will get a day one patch, it’s been revealed. Fans of the horror series can now download andplay theResident Evil 3remake demo, but it seems that Capcom is ready for when the full version of the game is been released.
The site Twisted Voxel reports that the day one patch for theResident Evil 3remake has been found on the PlayStation servers. It’s unclear how the site was able to see the patch file on the servers several weeks out from the release date for the full version of the game. However, the site reveals that the patch will be just 220MB, meaning that fans will be able to jump in and start trying to run away from Nemesis quickly after starting the download.

The patch notes for the day one update are also available, though Capcom has just said that it offers “bug fixes” which could be for anything. Fans know theResident Evil 3remake storyand how it has changed compared to the first version of the game, so there would be no reason for Capcom to hide gameplay details in the patch notes. What’s more likely is that the update fixes lots of small technical issues and Capcom doesn’t see the point in listing them all.
Fans will be glad that Capcom is acting to fix any potential issues with the game before release, as theResident Evil 3remake isn’t small. The remake features abigger version of Raccoon City, and players will be able to go into shops and buildings and take multiple routes to solve Jill’s tasks. A bigger game means that there are more things that could go wrong, as players are more likely to do things that the developer didn’t expect.
It’s unclear what Capcom’s plans are for updating theResident Evil Resistancemultiplayer, which comes with theResident Evil 3remake.Resident Evil Resistancehasmultiple maps and several playable characters, such as Martin Sandwich and Alex Wesker, which could also lead to technical issues.
Fans also want to know if Capcom will be releasing any new DLC for this part of the game, to keep the multiplayer gameplay feeling fun, entertaining and giving them a reason to come back to it after they’ve completed the story. Thegame may have microtransactionsand DLC would seem like another way for the multiplayer to make money. This hasn’t been revealed but Capcom could announce more about this and other patches for the game, before it is released.
Resident Evil 3launches on April 3 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
