Pokemon Scarlet and Violethaven’t had much in the way of official news as of late, with Game Freak and Nintendo going quiet since dropping the games' second trailer. Leakers have stepped up to fill the void, and while the jury is still out on the legitimacy of the leaks, they’re still interesting to consider. The latestPokemon Scarlet and Violetleaks may reveal some Pokemon that will be returning in the new games, and some that won’t be making the cut.

It was a huge controversy whenPokemon Sword and Shieldabandoned the National Pokedex, as it meant that not every Pokemon could be featured in the games. It’s likely thatPokemon Scarlet and Violetwill skip the National Dexas well, which means that some Pokemon simply won’t be featured in the new games. A recent post by CentroLeaks claims to reveal some of the Pokemon that fans apparently won’t be able to catch inPokemon Scarlet and Violet.

If the leaked information is to be believed, it seems as though Smeargle, Sharpedo, and theGeneration 5 starter Pokemonwon’t be featured inPokemon Scarlet and Violet. For those who may not recall, the Generation 5 starter Pokemon are Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott. By extension, this means thatPokemon Scarlet and Violetfans shouldn’t expect the evolved forms of those Pokemon to return in the new games either, assuming the leak is accurate.Pokemonfans should definitely take the information with a massive grain of salt as nothing official has been announced by Nintendo at the time of this writing.

As for Pokemon that will be returning inPokemon Scarlet and Violet, the leak claims thatMimikyuwill be featured in the new games, as will Goodra and Hisuian Goodra, the latter of which was introduced in the recently-releasedPokemon Legends: Arceus. Snover is also said to be returning. Again, this implies that the evolution lines of these Pokemon will also be featured in the games.

There are a ton of so-calledPokemon Scarlet and Violetleaksflooding the internet, and so it’s best for fans to treat them all with some healthy skepticism. The only thing that will prove or disprove these leaks is more official information onPokemon Scarlet and Violet, and hopefully fans don’t have to wait too much longer for more info on the games.

The latest theory suggests that thenextPokemon Scarlet and Violettrailerwill drop at some point in early August. This hasn’t been announced in an official capacity, though, so fans should keep their expectations in check.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violetlaunch on November 18, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
