As the Power Plant event begins inPokemon GO, trainers around the world are able to head out into their environments and begin enjoying the spawns, bonuses, and activities associated with the Season of Heritage event. In addition to an excitingrotation of Power Plant event Raid Bosses, trainers will also find some new Field Research up for grabs at Pokestops.

During the event,Pokemon GOtrainers should be able to visit Pokestops, spin their location, and pick up some event-specific tasks in addition tothe usual January 2022 Field Research list. There are only a few of the event specific tasks that have been identified at this point, but some of the encounter rewards are quite tempting.

Completing Field Tasks is something many players do on a daily basis anyway, so there’s no reason not to pick up these ones, take advantage of the event bonuses, and complete them fairly easily. The Catch 5 Electric-type Pokemon should be a very easy challenge considering this week’s increased spawns. Walking 4km on the other hand is a little tougher, but many players might consider the challenge worth it for an Emolga encounter.

Rarity of Rewards

The following Pokémon will be commonly available in event research for the Power Plant event:

These Pokémon will be available in research also, but more rarely:

As always, it’s definitely possible that other Field Tasks will appear throughout the event or that there are other tasks the community hasn’t managed to find yet. With this particular event, it also wouldn’t be surprising to see a new batch of Field Tasks and encounter rewards arrive when week two fires off. Be sure to stay tuned in for updates as the event progresses during the final weeks of January 2022.

Trainers have been given some hints that week two of the Power Plant event is going to involve a battle with Team GO Rocket, so it seems likely any additional Field Tasks might relate to those activities. Players should prepare for tasks that involve “Battle X Grunts” or “Catch X Shadow Pokemon” and similar tasks that have been used in the past during Rocket takeovers.

Players should learn much more about exact details of other activities throughoutthe remainder of the Season of Heritage. Be sure to check back in the near future for morePokemon GOstrategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
