While waiting forPokemon GOCity Safari, Niantic launched a new event this weekend geared towardPokemon GOnewcomers in India.

The Pokemon Company and Niantic is hosting the Aao KhelePokemon GOspecial event this weekend to celebrate the game’s launch in India and the addition of Hindi language support. However, most of the activePokemon GOcommunity will not be able to participate in the new event since its exclusive to India.Pokemon GOplayers in India have access to Field Research that awards encounters with Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle. Those participating in the event may encounter shiny Pokemon and extra candy as well. Further, completing certain tasks will also grant Mega Energy for Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise respectively.

The newPokemon GOspecial event will be live until October 14 at 8:00 p.m. local time in India. Niantic promises to provide further improvements and updates to the Hindi version ofPokemon GO. Outside of India,Pokemon GOplayers must wait untilthe September 2023 Community Day eventlaunching on September 23 in order to earn extra candy and XP rewards.

Although many players won’t be able to participate in newPokemon GOevent, the September Community Day event will soon offer similar bonuses that the worldwide community may take advantage of. These bonuses include increased candy drops, higher XP gains, reduced trading costs, and boosted encounter rates. Moreover, the India event appears to be geared toward playersstarting theirPokemon GOjourney, so those who already play the game frequently may not benefit as much as new players.
