Currently,Pokemon XandPokemon Yhave the lowest number of new Pokemon at a modest 72 compared to Unova’s 156. This still hasn’t prevented Kalos Pokemon from appearing in later mainline games such asSword/ShieldandScarlet/Violet. As of now, there’s a little over 40 Kalos Pokemon inPokemon GO.

As of 2023, there have been a handful of events with certain Kalos Pokemon at the center inPokemon GO. Most of these involved releasing their Shiny Variants, but another may have included Legendary or Mythical Pokemon. Outside of Events and catching Gen 6 Pokemon in the wild, there are a handful that can be obtained by hatching Eggs.

How to Obtain Pokemon Eggs

Unlike in mainline games where Eggs are obtained from breeding,Pokemon GOtrainers can get Eggs by spinning the discs atPokeStops or Gyms, opening aGift, or as anAdventure Sync Reward. Eggs aren’t classified by what Pokemon they contain. Instead,GOdivides them into categories based on how long it takes for the Egg to hatch:

  • 7km Eggs are unique, yellow Eggs with pink spots. These are only obtainable from Gifts. Their Hatch Pool mostly consists of Pokemon with Regional Variants such as Galarian Farfetch’d or Hisuian Growlithe. Duringholidays or special events, the Hatch Pool for the 7km Eggswill sometimes change. For example: Instead of hatching a Galarian Stunfisk, players may end up hatching a Smoochum. Any 7km Egg received post-event will follow the regular 7km Hatch Pool.

There are alsoStrange Eggs, which require12km to hatch. Unlike the 2k, 5km, and 10km Eggs, Strange Eggs can only be obtained bydefeating Team GO Rocket LeadersorGiovanni.

Adventure SyncEggs are rewards for walking 5km or 10km in one week. If playershave room in the storage, they’ll receive an Adventure Sync Egg, which has a different Hatch Pool from the regular 5km and 10km Eggs from PokeStops/Gyms.

While the 2k-10km Eggs are kept ina storage of 9, the Strange Eggs have aBonus Storage, which can hold up tothree Strange Eggs at a time.Eggs can’t be removed, so in order to make room, players will need to hatch one first. Until there’s room for another Egg, it will be impossible to farm more Eggs from Stops/Gyms, etc.

Which Kalos Pokemon Hatch from Eggs?

Surprisingly, there aren’t many Kalos Pokemon that can be hatched.Niantic released the Shiny Variantsfor Tyrunt and Amaura, two Pokemon that are part of the 10km Egg Pool, but otherwise, the Gen 6 Hatch Pool is still low. Fortunately, it’s easy to find the Gen 6 Egg Pokemon in the wild or during Field Research Breakthroughs. Thus, if players intend on evolving one of their Kalos Pokemon, they have some options when it comes to farming Candy.

Each Pokemon in the Hatch Pool are rated on a 1-5 scale, with1 being the most commonand5 being the rarest.

12km Eggs (Strange Eggs)

Dark/Psychic

Kalos Pokemon appear to only hatch from the 10km and 12km Eggs. This means they’re harder to obtain from spinning PokeStops than their 2k-5km counterparts. The Gen 6 Pokemon that players may have trouble hatching are Pancham, Skrelp, and Inkay. This is due to them being locked to the Strange Eggs, meaning players will need to defeat6 Team GO Rocket Gruntsand thendefeat the Team GO Rocket Leaderjust to get one Strange Egg. The storage space for 12km Eggs is also significantly smaller than the main storage.

How to Hatch Eggs

Eggs can only hatch if they’re placed in an Incubator first. There are the blue/regularEgg Incubatorsand theSuper Incubators. Egg Incubators will take the full distance/time to hatch, while a Super Incubator will cut the required distance in half. Incubators can only holdone Egg at a time, and they allbreak after three uses.

Players also receive an orange/regular Egg Incubator. This one will never break, but like any other Incubator, it can’t incubate more than one Egg at a time. Therefore, it’s best for players to have a few Incubators in the storage so that they don’t have to wait for one to hatch.

IfGOtrainers notice they’re getting low on Egg Incubators, they can remedy this by:
