Many gamers eagerly awaited the launch ofPayday 3, the much-anticipated sequel of one of the most popular co-op shooters in the gaming industry. Unfortunately,Payday 3’s release was marred by a plethora of issues that soured the title to many fans of the franchise, with evenStarbreeze Studios' CEO publicly apologizing on Twitter.Payday 3’s servers were unstable at launch, with many players reporting severe matchmaking problems which left them completely unable to play the game due to its always-online requirement.

Starbreeze Studios recently announced that last week’s update completely fixed the matchmaking troubles that still persisted for several days afterPayday 3’s rocky launchas the game is considered to be stable now. Starbreeze also presented a quick overview of some of the game’s upcoming features and enhancements which will roll out over the rest of the year. Over 200 quality-of-life improvements are scheduled for October across all platforms, while in November,Payday 3will receive some additional QoL features alongside new content and functionalities, albeit no specific information about these has been provided.
At some point during the upcoming winter,the Syntax Error DLCwill be available for free to players who purchased the Silver or Gold editions of the game. Players who opted for the Standard version ofPayday 3will have to purchase the DLC separately once it is released. Not much is known about the DLC, but many players are speculating that it will be focused on hacking, with gameplay centered on data theft instead of on stealing money. However, this speculation should be taken with a grain of salt until more official information is released.
While the much-needed bug fixing is a step in the right direction forPayday 3, many players are still upset by the lack of content in the co-op FPS game.Payday 3features no more than 8 heistsat the time of the writing, fewer than its predecessorPayday 2, which featured 12 heists at the time of its debut. It is interesting to note thatPayday 3’s Steam page displays a “mostly negative” user review rating, with many gamers still preferring the franchise’s previous game.
