Summary
2023 was a massive year forOne Piece, thanks to the already incredible anime and manga series and, at the same time, a live-action adaptation to add to all that. Naturally, fans are incredibly excited about their favorite series heading into 2024 and at this year’s Festa, Oda certainly raised the expectations by quite a lot. Quite a lot of interesting information aboutOne Piecewas revealed recently and, most importantly, a completeremake of the One Piece animewas announced as well.
This announcement took the fans by surprise as not many expected for this remake to happen anytime soon. Yet, at the very end of Jump Festa 2024, a teaser trailer foranewOne Pieceremake, titled “The One Piece”was revealed to the fans. Naturally, every fan ofOne Piecewill have quite a lot of questions pertaining to theOne Pieceanime remake project and this article will surely help them with that.

Why Is One Piece Getting A Remake?
The biggest question that anyOne Piecefan will have pertaining to theOne Pieceremake is why exactly is theOne Pieceseries being remade in the first place. This is quite a valid question, and the answer to this could be very straightforward as well. When looking at earlyOne Piece, the series certainly lives up to all expectations.EarlyOne Piecehas quite a charm to it and, it is animated quite beautifully, with incredible character designs and, at the same time, perfect pacing as well. However, the same cannot be said for the story moving forward. As One Piece continued, the pacing of the story took a heavy blow and this was to be expected, given that the manga wasn’t all that far ahead.
At the same time, theOne Pieceanime also suffered quite a lot from production issues, which often led to some episodes not receiving the same love that they deserved. While much of that has changed towardsthe Wano arc, as the anime series has done brilliantly over the course of the last few years, the questions about the pacing still remain.

At the same time,One Pieceis quite an old anime. As such, a newer approach to the same anime will certainly be somewhat exciting. IfOne Piece’supcoming project manages to fix the pacing issues, as well as provides a new approach to the series and animates it beautifully, this is surely a win for One Piece fans all over the world. It is also not here to replace the originalOne Pieceanime, as the original anime will still continue. This project is purely going to be a message of love to One Piece fans all over the world.
At the same time, fans know that aOne Pieceremake, at some point, was always going to happen. However, the voice actors are surely not going to get any younger. To ensure that the voice actors are going to be a major part of the upcomingOne Pieceanime remake, an adaptation being announced at this point is actually perfect.

WIT Studio - The Studio Working on The One Piece Remake
Another major question that fans might have is who exactly will be working on TheOne Pieceanime remake. The original anime forOne Pieceis being handled by Toei Animation. However, the upcoming anime will be taken care of by Wit Studio and distributed by Netflix. Wit Studio is quite popular among anime fans already, especially due to their incredible work onAttack on Titanand newer series, such asSpy x Family. While Wit Studio did suffer from some turbulent times a few years ago, the anime studio has done incredibly well for itself recently and completely transformed itself. Wit Studio might just be the best studio to take on this job and it is surely going to be exciting for fans to see howthey handle Eiichiro Oda’sOne Piece.
In Netflix’s very own press release, they have recently announced that the upcomingOne Pieceanime will feature great animation using cutting-edge technology and that the series will reimagine Luffy’s adventures throughout the East Blue.

How Many Episodes Will The One Piece Remake Have?
Fans might be wondering as to how many episodes they will be in Netflix’s theOne Pieceanime remake. For now, fans don’t have an official number. However, what the fans do know is that the series will be covering the adventures ofLuffy and the Straw Hat Piratesacross the East Blue. This is quite a clear indication that it is going to be a proper anime adaptation that will be faithful to Oda’s work. This means that fans will see the story begin from the very first chapter, which is, the Romance Dawn arc and, from there onwards, cover the entirety of the East Blue Saga, all the way up to where Luffy defeats Arlong and then goes to Loguetown and set sail for the Grand Line.
This is quite a lot of material to adapt, however, given that the approach that this anime will take is likely going to be seasonal, then fans should expect the series to be at least 25 episodes long, and ideally, longer than that.

Will The One Piece Remake Be Seasonal?
Once again, there is no confirmation as to what approach theOne Pieceanime remake will be taking. However, it is highly likely that it is going to be seasonal. This is especially hinted at by the fact that the official announcement clarifies that they will tackle the East Blue saga first. This confirms that East Blue will be the first season of the One Piece anime and that the second season, which will likely be produced many months after the first season drops, will cover the events of the Arabasta Saga, similarly.
One Piecewill likely benefit from the seasonal approach quite a lot and this is simply because it will allow the animation staff to breathe more and, at the same time, aid the pacing of the series greatly. At the same time, fans can then also expect great animation, thanks to the incredible amount of time that the staff will get to work on the show.

The One Piece Anime Remake Release Date
Currently, no release date has been provided for theOne Pieceanime remake. However, given that the project is in early works, it is likely not going to be anytime soon. Production for this anime will likely take quite a lot of time and fans should expect it at some point in 2025, at the very least. As announced by Netflix itself, more information on this upcoming major project will be provided in time. For now, fans can sit back and absorb this news as there’s a lot to be excited about when it comes toOne Piece’sfuture.
