Nintendo is asking fans about their favoriteLegend of Zeldaexperiences. Whether it’s 3D vs 2D, sword vs bow, or the most relaxingZeldamusic, Nintendo is reaching out to fans to see what they enjoy most.
The Nintendo of America Twitter account has posted a series of polls, none of which seem more interesting than 2D (top-down) or 3DZeldagames. Ever since the belovedOcarina of Time, Nintendo has createdThe Legend of Zeldatitles in 3D, likeWind WakerorBreath of The Wild, but also from a top-down perspective, likePhantom Hourglassor the recent andwell-receivedLink’s Awakeningremake.

So far the poll is rather lopsided, with 81.3% of the over 35,000 votes choosing 3D. It could be that Nintendo is gauging interest in futureZeldatitles, but it’s probably more likely that Nintendo is simply interacting with fans, and even promoting its Nintendo Power podcast (not to be confused withReggie Fil-Aime’s podcast), as mentioned in the Tweet.
Nintendo of America followed up the 2D vs 3D tweet with two other poll questions. In asking whichZeldasong is the bestto relax to fromOcarina of Time.In that poll so far, the gamers selected Zelda’s Lullaby at number one with 45.7% of the votes. Song of Time has 26.9%. Meanwhile, Epona’s Song took 23.8% of the vote, while Sun’s Song took just 3.7%. Nintendo, and theZeldaseries specifically, has always been known for strong video game composition.
The other question that Nintendo asks about is whether fans enjoy defeating enemies more with a sword or a bow. Of course, those two weapons are the most used by Link, with the Master Sword being his iconic weapon. So far, perhaps not surprisingly, the sword is winning at 69.7%. Nintendo could be checking the pulse of fans to see if they want a return ofLink’s Crossbow Trainingif the bow was leading the votes, but again it is most likely that Nintendo is simply having fun with fan engagement via Twitter.
Expectations are high for the nextZeldatitle, as fans are patiently waiting for any news on theBreath of the Wildsequel. The 3D epic has to live up to the originalBreath of the Wild, a game many consider to be a ‘game of the generation’ type title, and one of the bestZeldagames. But the 2D games are great as well, beginning with the originalLegend of Zeldain 1986. There is a wide variety of fun to be had within theZeldafranchise, and these polls from Nintendo are a reminder of how fans enjoy the series.
