The annual report coveredNintendo’s financial yearfrom April 2019 to the end of March of this year. According to the report, the company employed 2,395 different individuals. The average age of these employees was 39.2 years old, and on average stayed with the company for 13.9 years, making a mean wage of 86,583 USD a year.
Employees counted in this report were those directly employed in the company and not individuals who were paid to do projects outside of the company or through other companies working closely with Nintendo. Along with this, the number given for the annual salary average is the amount paid to the employees including tax for the fiscal year up to March 31, and the listed salary also includes extra wages and bonuses employees have earned.
These numbers can imply aspects of company life to those looking in. To have an employee retention rate as high as almost 14 years implies that the employees enjoy the company atmosphere and their work at the video game industry giant. However, the high salary may be misleading, as top Nintendo executives such asShigeru Miyamotoare recorded to make as much as 27 times the amount that is considered to be average for the company. These executive salaries bring up the average, so it muddies the waters on a specific average for the more common Nintendo worker.
With new games likePaper Mario: The Origami Kingcoming out, there will be more in store for Nintendo and the future games it will bring to the public. These employees are who help bring fans the games they love so much.
