While there is no news on a newNinja Gaidengame, fans will soon be able to relive the Team Ninja’s reboot trilogy on modern consoles.Ninja Gaiden: Master Collectionis set to launch later this year, and as it turns out, those who decide to purchase it will have a few different options to choose from. Koei Tecmo has officially announced a Digital Deluxe Edition forNinja Gaiden: Master Collectionthat will be available the same day as the physical release on June 10.
The Digital Deluxe Edition ofNinja Gaiden: Master Collectionwill include a 70 page digital art book and a soundtrack with over 180 songs. Unfortunately, pricing information for theNinja Gaiden: Master CollectionDigital Deluxe Edition wasn’t revealed, but it will likely be $10 or $20 more expensive than the standard release. Of course, all versions of the collection includeNinja Gaiden Sigma,Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, andNinja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge.

Meanwhile, Koei Tecmo also announced some pre-order bonuses forNinja Gaiden: Master Collection. Anyone that pre-orders the PS4 version of the game will unlock aNinja Gaidenseriestheme for their console as well as five avatars based on the franchise. Those that pre-order the Digital Deluxe Edition on Xbox One will get a 10% discount, though pre-order bonuses have yet to be revealed for the PC and Switch versions of the game.
Some may be wondering why there’s no next-gen version ofNinja Gaiden: Master Collection, though Koei Tecmo has not offered any explanation. But whileNinja Gaiden: Master Collectionwillnot have a native release on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X, it will still be playable on the next-generation consoles. Both the PS5 and Xbox Series X support backward compatibility, so fans will still be able to play the game on their new consoles if they so desire.
If there is enough interest inNinja Gaiden: Master Collection, one has to imagine that would encourage Koei Tecmo to bring the franchise back from the grave. As it stands, there hasn’t been a new main seriesNinja Gaidengame in nearly a decade, andTeam Ninjahas already said that it is not working onNinja Gaiden 4. Perhaps the studio may revisit theNinja Gaidenfranchise after its done working on its original IP, but it has not made any indication that will be the case.
While fans wait for more information on a possiblenewNinja Gaidengame, they can revisit the reboot trilogy whenNinja Gaiden: Master Collectionlaunches later this year.
