The originalPokemon Snapgame released for the Nintendo 64 in 1999 and quickly became a cult favorite among fans of thePokemonfranchise. The game was known for encouraging players to experiment with the courses, figuring out how they can make different Pokemon interact with each other to get certain results. Sometimes these interactions would lead to Pokemon evolving, which in turn allowedPokemon Snapplayers to get pictures of new creatures.

The recently releasedNew Pokemon Snapon the Nintendo Switch seems to do away with that particular feature, unfortunately. As reported by ComicBook,New Pokemon Snapdoesn’t have Pokemon evolutions. So players won’t find themselves doing things like figuring out how they canmake a Charmander evolveall the way to its final form of Charizard as they did in the originalPokemon Snapgame.

Some fans online have expressed their disappointment that the feature was removed, however.

While this fan favorite feature does not appear to be in theNew Pokemon Snapbase game, it’s possible that it could be added at some point down the road. Dataminers have found evidence thatNew Pokemon SnapDLC expansionscould be on the way in some form, though nothing has been announced in an official capacity. It’s entirely possible that there will not be any DLC released forNew Pokemon Snap, so fans should keep their expectations in check.

And even if there isNew Pokemon SnapDLC, that doesn’t mean the DLC will bring back this popular feature. It may just be more of the same, lettingNew Pokemon Snapplayers explore more of the Lental Region, or maybe giving them the opportunity to visit other Regions in thePokemonuniverse. Fans will likely have to wait and see how wellNew Pokemon Snapdoes before they start worrying about any DLC or lack thereof.

In any case, it’s clear that there are someNew Pokemon Snapfans who are unhappy that they can’t make Pokemon evolve anymore, but they can still interact with Pokemon in the world in other ways at least, mainly by using Fluffruit.
