Monster Hunter Riseplayers will be able to download the free 2.0. title update at exactly 12 AM UTC on April 28, which means that players in the west will actually have access to the new content later today without having to wait an extra day. Here’s a handy chart for some of the major time zones around the world that shows what time the update should be live for Switch players:

Along with theaddition of Chameleos, Apex Diablos, Apex Rathalos, Teostra, and Kushala Daora, the update will bring regular quests for some of the Apex monsters, so that players won’t always have to participate in the Rampage quests to get certain material that they need from these beasts. Magnamalo will also start making an appearance during some Rampage quests, and layered armor will be forgeable once players unlock their Hunter Rank by going past Hunter Rank 7.

Layered armor allows huntersthe chance to dress however they like without having to sacrifice the skills and abilities from the armor they currently have equipped. For example, a hunter can have an Ibushi armor set equipped for the stats, but they can use a Rathalos layered armor just for the looks.

Capcom also reiterated during the presentation that the next free title update would be coming sometime in late May, adding even more monsters to the game and even a new ending that further carries the game’s intriguing plot. There seems to be tons of content coming to the game in a very short amount of time, soMonster Hunterfans will definitely have a lot to look forward to in the coming weeks.

Monster Hunter Riseis now available for the Nintendo Switch. A PC port is expected to launch in early 2022.
