The Marvel Cinematic Universe contiues to be a goldmine for Square Enix and Crystal Dynamic inside ofMarvel’s Avengers. Films likeBlack Widow,Iron Man,Black Panther, and the variousAvengersfilms are given plenty of shine with the skins available, but the game has yet to show love to the MCU’s entries on Disney Plus. This is no longer the case, as players can now deck out the game’s version ofClint Bartonwith a new suit, courtesy of the Disney Plus seriesHawkeye.
Marvel’s Avengersfirst introduced Hawkeye as part of the Taking A.I.M. story expansion where Kate Bishop joins the team to help rescue her mentor from A.I.M. Before the latest update, Hawkeye’s MCU-inspired skins came courtesy of 2015’sAvengers: Age of Ultronand 2019’sAvengers: Endgame. The latter of the two skins also ties, narratively, into the events of theHawkeyeseries due to the hero’s time hunting the world’s criminal underworld as Ronin following Thanos' snap inAvengers: Infinity War.

His new skin, much like the rest of the Disney Plus series, is inspired heavily by Matt Fraction and David Aja’s 2015Hawkeyecomic run. The suit is given toJeremy Renner’s Hawkeyeby his protege Kate Bishop, played in the series by Hailee Steinfeld. The skin’s inclusion inMarvel’s Avengerswas shared on the game’s official Twitter account, confirming the skin will be available on December 23 in the game’s marketplace.
The addition of Hawkeye’s suit from his titular series shouldn’t come as surprising, given how critically well-received the show has been. It gave Renner’s rendition of the hero a spotlight he had yet to receive in any of his film appearances, often playing a supporting role to either the film’s narrative or characters likeCaptain Americaand Iron Man.
On top of that, Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have also been gift-wrapped the first potential, MCU-inspired skin to giveKate BishopinMarvel’s Avengersfor Christmas.
The skins currently available in the game’s marketplace for Kate Bishop are primarily taken from her comic book suits. Current options include her “Hawkingbird” suit, inspired by the 2005 debut in theYoung Avengerscomic, or the “Too Cool” skin, based on a variant cover from Matt Fraction’sHawkeyecomic run. However, players shouldn’t be surprised if the suit donned by Steinfeld for the season finale ends up finding its way into the game sooner or later.
Marvel’s Avengersis currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
