A newGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3poster was released on Super Bowl Sunday, prompting Karen Gillan to try and explain the weird pose Nebula is striking in the image.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3was one of the tentpole projects promoted at the Super Bowl LVII. While the newGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3trailercaught the attention of most fans, Gillan seemingly found it hard to ignore Nebula posing with her hand behind her back and elbow raised in the air.

Gillan took to her official TikTok account to address the matter, asking viewers, “could anybody out tell me what I was thinking when I decided to pose like this on an international, worldwide poster that will remain forever more?” Gillan admits to thinking she looked “pretty cool” when theGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3photowas taken, so she accepts full responsibility for Nebula’s weird pose. Still, Gillan can’t figure out what Nebula is leaning against. However, she proposes making the pose a trend on the red carpet, similar to how men are frequently photographed adjusting their cufflinks.
Gillan tells viewers that she tried to explain to pose to herself by suggesting Nebula was reaching for a weapon. However, Gillan realized that explanation was unreasonable because Nebula was not wearing a hostler. Gillan concluded the video by promising fans that Nebula’s pose will return when they “least expect it” and then saying farewell by doing the pose.

Gillan has suggested she’s finished playing NebulaafterGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, slated to be the final chapter of Gunn’s take on the characters. So, if Gillan brings back Nebula’s weird pose on the press tour or red carpet premiere, it will likely provide much-needed comic relief for what might be a bittersweet farewell to the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Guardian of the Galaxy Vol. 3is scheduled to be released in theaters on July 04, 2025.
