It’s a bit baffling that Warner Bros. hasn’t created a modernJustice Leaguegame. While DC movies have had their ups and downs, Warner Bros. has had a lot of success on the games side of things with titles like theBatman Arkhamseries. Rumors of a potential Superman game have circulated, but that’s as close as things have come. In response to Warner Bros' inaction, one fan has taken it upon themselves to create theJustice Leaguegame of their dreams.
Over on Reddit, u/TheRedProphett shared a video of a project they’ve been working on in Media Molecule’sDreams,a sort of game creation engine for enthusiast game developers. The project is aJustice Leaguegame, featuring Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman facing off against foes. While it’s clearly just a rough concept for such a game, the prototype is brimming with potential.

TheJustice Leagueprototype is basically just a beat ‘em up with the option to swap between the three superheroes, though each hero has their own special moveset. There’s also surprisingly elaborate cape physics and a consistent art style among the heroes. While that might all sound simple, it’s something that takes a lot of effort and experience to nail down, so what TheRedProphett has shared here shouldn’t be downplayed.
There’s been no official confirmation of a full-onJustice Leaguegame, though it might not be out of the question forever. In fact, the Justice League will be making aformal appearance inSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, the next game fromBatman Arkhamdeveloper Rocksteady. However, that features the members of the Justice League as the antagonists, so it’s not quite what fans are asking for when they bring up aJustice Leaguegame.
It’s not that an officialJustice Leaguegame is impossible, but it doesn’t seem to be in the cards right now. Rocksteady is the studio most would point to as a contender to helm such a game, but it seems to have its hands full at the moment. Plus, the Batman Family is getting its own game in the form ofGotham Knights,so the DC comic game space is a bit full at the moment, or at least will be when the two projects debut.
In the meantime, fans can hold out hope for some sort of official announcement at The Game Awards, though it isn’t a safe bet. For now, theDreamscreation represents the closest fans will get to a proper game, so it’s worth checking out.
