FromSoft added nearly 40 new talismans toElden Ringwith theShadow of the ErdtreeDLC. While some talismans are improved versions of standard talismans like Drake Talismans, Amber Medallions, and Charms, most others have brand-new effects to further enhance your builds. Many builds have received buffs inShadow of the ErdtreeDLC with talismans like theTalisman of the Dreadbuffing magma sorceries and skills, St. Trina’s Smile for sleep builds, and more.
One of the new talismans, calledBeloved Stardust, buffs sorcery and incantation builds by shortening the casting time to the lowest. It is a better version of the legendary talisman, Radagon Icon, but comes with a downside. When equipped, the Beloved Stardust talisman provides maximum virtual Dexterity for fastest casting speed but lowers your damage negation by 30%. To get the Beloved Stardust talisman, you will have to complete the first task from Count Ymir as part of his quest line. There’s a silver lining to the Beloved Stardust talisman discussed later in this guide.

Is the Beloved Stardust Talisman worth using or not?
The Beloved Stardust talisman your casting time to the minimum, but its -30% damage negation acts as a double-edged sword. Unless you are great at dodging or using spells from a safe distance, taking 30% more damage can be lethal, especially against bosses inShadow of the Erdtree.
Moreover, the Beloved Stardust talisman can be useless for builds with a high investment inDexterity. This talisman gives 99 virtual Dexterity, which decreases the casting speed to the minimum. However, if you already have many points in Dexterity, the Beloved Stardust becomes redundant. Even if you have a low investment of around 40 Dexterity, it is better to use theRadagon Icontalisman for 30 virtual Dexterity. Since casting speed becomes fastest at level 70 Dexterity, there is no point in having more points in Dexterity for caster and sorcerer builds.

The Beloved Stardust talisman is only worth using if you have no investment in Dexterity and want the maximum cast speed. This can be helpful in challenge playthroughs like a rune level 1 run. However, you will always have to be on your toes because of the lowered damage negation.
