Some of these patches have made significant improvements to the game, aspatch 1.16 forHorizon Forbidden Westcompletely revamped its visuals in performance mode. Before this update, users expressed disappointment at the graphics ofHorizon Forbidden Westin the 60 FPS mode, and this patch noticeably improved the overall image quality. Now, the development team has released update 1.23 forHorizon Forbidden West, making further changes and improvements to the user experience.

Guerrilla Games has shared a new post on Reddit detailing all the fixes and enhancementscoming toHorizon Forbidden Westin update 1.23. Many of these changes are related to theBurning Shoresexpansion, as it fixes numerous issues present in the main quest of the DLC. In addition to the main story, patch 1.23 also fixes problems related to side quests and world activities inHorizon Forbidden West.

The next few sections detail fixes for machine-specific issues and some skills inHorizon Forbidden Westnot working correctly, along with general stability improvements to prevent crashes. It fixes UI problems, such as issues related to roads on the game’s map, while also improving the optimization ofHorizon Forbidden West. Overall, patch 1.23 forHorizon Forbidden Westcomes with a huge list of changes that fix various issues present in the game, with many of them a part of the recently releasedBurning ShoresDLC.

This update comes out shortly after patches 1.22 and 1.21, with the latter launching alongside the release of theBurning ShoresDLC forHorizon Forbidden West. Update 1.22 is relatively small, but patch 1.21 introduced some useful accessibility and quality-of-life features, such as Thalassophobia mode and an option that makes Aloy automatically pick up loot.

Fans of this series should note that asequel toHorizon Forbidden Westis currently in developmentat Guerrilla Games, although nothing has been revealed about this game as yet. Sony will probably announce this third mainline game in theHorizonseries at a PlayStation Showcase event, although it may be too soon for it to be a part of the major presentation that is rumored to take place within the next few months.
