With October almost over, plenty of video game developers are celebrating the Halloween holiday in different ways. While Guerrilla Games, the developer ofHorizon Zero Dawn, is still busy working onHorizon Forbidden West, the development team still has some time to celebrate Halloween.

The official Twitter account for Guerrilla Games posted a new image ofHorizon Forbidden Westart earlier today to celebrate Halloween. The image has the main character Aloy and her friend Erend out in the middle of the woods at night with Aloy holding a lit jack-o-lantern pumpkin for light. The post has a quote from her saying, “I feel like somebody’s watching us!” While in the background, an ominous wolf-life machine is at the edge of a cliff howling in the middle of a full moon.

The tweet also has a statement from the developer to go with the image saying that the team wishes everyone a spooky Halloween. With today being Halloween, many other game developers and studios have also been celebrating the spooky holiday and wishing players a happy Halloween by sharing posts. Earlier today, the officialOverwatchTwitter posted severalHalloween Terror postersfeaturing different characters in their new Halloween costumes.

Naughty Dog shared someUnchartedartto celebrate Halloween too. The image has the series' main character Nathan Drake carving out a pumpkin alongside the playable character Chloe Frazer. The art for the post was made by Naughty Dog concept artist @jihyeleeart. The tweet said for players to grab their pumpkins and to carve their legacy for the “spooky season.”

Other video game developers released similar posts to celebrate and wish everyone a happy Halloween. Video game developer Hideo Kojima tweets a post with aDeath Strandingimage from Kojima Productions that wishes everyone a happy Halloween. Santa Monica Studio, the developer behind the 2018God of Wargame and its upcoming sequelGod of War Ragnarok, made a post to celebrate Halloween, too. It features a short clip of Kratos opening a chest, and an enemy jumps out to attack him. The post even has the question, “Did we get you?” with a wink emoji.

Insomniac Games, the developer ofMarvel’s Spider-Manfor PS4 and the game’s upcoming sequel, also posted a tweet celebrating Halloween. The tweet has a selfie image of Spider-Man wearing the blue flaming skull Spirit Spider suit from the game with the post saying, “Stay Spectacular.” Even Housemarque, the developer of the PS5 exclusive gameReturnal, shared a tweet celebrating Halloween today, as well as asking players to share their favorite scary pictures taken with the game’s photo mode.

Horizon Forbidden Westis scheduled to release on July 03, 2025 for the PS4 and PS5.
