Many strange things are known to happen in Rockstar Games’Grand Theft Auto Online, and a player has clipped the moment in which a cop shoots them after being killed. TheGrand Theft Auto OnlineNPCs are like theGTA 5ones in how they respond to situations inconsistently and are often spotted in weird spots, and the cop in the aforementioned video is the most ridiculous among the possible scenarios that could’ve played out.
GTA Onlinefans have seenNPCs stuck to plane wings, defying gravity, and intentionally crashing into a player’s car, and Reddit user Objective_Middle_696’s video is just the latest example of hilarity with the AI. TheGrand Theft Auto OnlineandGTA 5NPCs haven’t seen too many changes since the games originally launched back in 2013 and characters in other Rockstar Games titles likeRed Dead Redemption 2and theGrand Theft Auto Trilogyremaster are similarly peculiar. AlthoughGTA Onlineplayers are often finding their entertainment by engaging with each other, unpredictable moments like the one captured by Objective_Middle_696 are another way that fans may keep coming back.

Objective_Middle_696’s clip begins with the player punching one cop down to the ground while donning a mask and packing enough cash to suggest that they had done one of themanyGrand Theft Auto Onlineheists. Another cop shoots at the player from across the parking lot and Objective_Middle_696 runs towards them and immediately starts swinging punches, kicking the law enforcement while they’re down as they struggle to make it to their feet. After being knocked down for the second time and ultimately dying, theGTA Onlinecop falls on their shotgun which is pointed towards the player, and it fires one shot at them which results in the infamous Wasted screen.
Like with real-life guns, the weapons inGTA Onlinecan misfire in situations like the one in Objective_Middle_696’s video because of the physics of the NPC falling onto the firearm combined with how the AI reacts unpredictably. Though Objective_Middle_696 may not be the first to be shot by a character in such a strange way as other players have beenrobbed by theGTA OnlineAI, very few fans have clipped the moment in which a dead NPC kills a player. Given thatGTA Onlineplayers lose a percentage of their money when they’re killed and that Objective_Middle_696 was carrying over $10,000 when the dead NPC defeated them, the single shot thwarted the player’s ability to store their earnings.
Several players took to Objective_Middle_696’s post to tell their stories of when a fallen NPC shot them in the same way, with one noting that running overGrand Theft Auto Onlinefirearmswill also make them go off in the game. Multiple Reddit users noted the statistical possibility of theseGTA Onlinemoments and hinted that it’s an incredibly rare event that may be appreciated by some despite being lamented by Objective_Middle_696.
Grand Theft Auto Onlineis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
