Game developer Cygames has revealed that the company will be releasing a demo forGranblue Fantasy: Relinkin January. The highly anticipatedRelinkhas gone through a tumultuous development period since it was announced back in 2016 under a different name. Initially, the title was meant to be a joint project between Cygames and PlatinumGames, a studio known forBayonettaandNier: Automata. But by December 2018, the game was officially titledGranblue Fantasy: Relink, with PlatinumGames pulling out of development just a few months later, in February 2019.
The game has had a history of delays, with Cygames announcing thatGranblue Fantasy: Relinkwould be released in 2022before bumping that date to 2023 and now, finally, to Jun 05, 2025. But despite these delays, fans have been excited to get their hands on the game, and now they may not have to wait much longer.

Cygames has officially announced on Twitter thatGranblue Fantasy: Relinkwill be getting a demo exclusive to the PS4 and PS5 in January. Players will get to experience some of the main story, as well as online multiplayer quests and 11 playable characters, with rewards being transferable to the full game. Additionally, the demo will have three modes: Tutorial, Story, and Quest, which is where players will get to explore with others.
The developer also released a slew of other information regarding the game during the winter session ofGranblue Fantasy Fes 2023, the company’s annual event that involves a variety of stage shows with a wide range of cast members, as well as attractions and exhibitions. The developer also revealed several newGranblue Fantasy: Relinkcharacters, such as an alchemist called Cagliostro, who will be available at launch, and Seofon Tweyen, members of the Eternals, a group of weapon masters, who will join the roster in an April update. Also introduced were three members of the Church of Avia: Maglielle, a sword master; Gallanza, a halberd wielder; and Id, who serves as a foil to the main character.
Three new creatures called primal beasts, who possess godlike powers, were also showcased. The first resembled a centaur and was called Furycane, the primal beast of vitality; the second had a sharp horn and was referred to as Managarmr, the primal beast of sequestration, while the third was a robotic-looking one, named Excavallion, the primal beast of fortification.
With DLC on the way, gamers are closer than ever to getting to experience thelong-awaited RPG that reminds some fans ofFinal Fantasy 16. While it is unknown exactly when the DLC will be released, Cygames is hosting a showcase on January 11 to reveal more details about the game, so news of theGranblue Fantasy: RelinkDLC may drop around that time.
