Summary
Genshin Impactcould be adding mounts in the near future, as a recent leak from a reliable source hints that Natlan’s overworld will make use of mounts as its primary exploration system. Ever since Inazuma,Genshin Impacthas sought to add more ways to interact with the world. From the Waverider to the Four-Leaf Sigil, exploration is far more versatile than what it used to be at launch. Gliding is no longer the sole way to cross major distances, and the addition of underwater exploration in Fontaine has further diversified the experience.
Thoughunderwater exploration inGenshin Impacthas been a major success, many players are hoping that HoYoverse adds something entirely new to the Natlan zones. The volcanic wastelands of Mare Jivari have long been teased by HoYoverse, and all signs point towards Natlan being a huge region to rival (and even surpass) the deserts of Sumeru.

Genshin Impact Players Could Ride Mounts in Natlan
Taking this into account, Natlan is the perfect opportunity forGenshin Impactto introduce mounts to the game. Based oninformation provided by Uncle Teyvat, a reliable source forupcoming maps and zones inGenshin Impact, it would seem that the game is certainly headed in that direction. According to Uncle Teyvat, not only is most of its vast overworld finished, but the main exploration gimmick for the region is going to feature mounts.
It is currently unknown if mounts will be locked toNatlan inGenshin Impact, or if players will be able to use them outside the Nation of Pyro, but they will almost certainly be intended to make traversal through the vast plains easier and more convenient. Given that dragons are becoming a more prominent part ofGenshin Impact’s story since Neuvillette’s introduction, it’s also quite possible that Natlan will allow players to ride drakes or similar draconic creatures.

Unlike Fontaine and Sumeru, not much has been leaked about Natlan thus far. Thecontroversial Pyro Archon concept arthas been the only substantial leak concerning the region, even as Version 4.6 approaches its beta testing phase. Whereas only Chiori is expected to make a debut in Version 4.5, the update after is expected to add Arlecchino, a new Fontaine map expansion, two new artifact sets, and even a new weekly boss. Though players are hopeful that the floodgates for Natlan leaks will open in the coming months, if not weeks, it would seem that sources are being significantly more cautious this time around.
