According to a new leak,Fortniteis preparing for another collaboration with Capcom to bringResident Evilskins to the battle royale. With theResident Evil 4remake launching in late March, the opportunity is ripe to revisit the classic survival horror franchise. Past Capcom collaborations forFortnitehave also proven to be very successful, with multipleStreet Fighterskins and even a previousResident Evilpartnership to show for it. The nextFortnite/Resident Evilcollaboration should be worth watching out for.As noted, this won’t be the firstResident Evilcollaboration to come toFortnite. All the way back in October 2021, Capcom introduced twoResident Evilskins toFortnite. The two skins included bothChris Redfield and Jill Valentine, each with alternate styles from different games. The skins' release oddly didn’t coincide with the launch of any game specifically.Resident Evil Villagehad launched earlier that year. Still,Resident Evilfans were very appreciative.RELATED:Augments Will Remain in Fortnite Next SeasonAs popular as both Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine are, they aren’t the onlypopular characters from theResident Evilfranchise. The latest leaks forFortnitereveal that Capcom will be bringing both Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield to the battle royale next. While the outfits for each character haven’t been confirmed yet, fans should expect at least two different styles for each character. A release date wasn’t shared, but the leaks indicated the skins would arrive in Chapter 4 Season 2, which starts in early March.
To be clear, the collaboration isn’t a directResident Evil 4tie-in. Like with the firstResident EvilandFortnitepartnership, it’s more of a generic collaboration. With that said, sinceResident Evil 4seems to be launching around the same time, it’s very likely intended to be a cross-promotional endeavor. ALeon KennedyResident Evil 4styleis something most fans will expect, at the minimum.
While the picks for this round ofResident Evil 4Fortniteskins may be controversial with some, few would argue that Leon and Claire weren’t the right choices. Leon Kennedy has long been one of if not the most popularResident Evilcharacters in the franchise. And Claire is certainly among the most popular women inResident Evilnext to Jill, thoughLady Dimitrescu may be more popular now.
There are still plenty of other options for Capcom to consider offering asFortniteskins in the future, too. A Wesker skin seems inevitable, perhaps paired with Lady Dimitrescu. Ada Wong, HUNK, Rebecca Chambers, and Ethan Winters are all strong choices, too. For now,Resident Evilfans can look forward to Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield arriving inFortnitebefore long.
Fortniteis available now on PC, PS4, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and mobile devices.
