Following Microsoft’s shocking acquisition of ZeniMax late last month, it seems Bethesda’s new projects are under a bigger spotlight than ever before. Fans are already debating whether the likes ofThe Elder Scrolls, Wolfenstein, andStarfieldwill be transitioning into Xbox exclusive franchises, with the publisher’s future plans being watched with bated breath.

It seems several job listings hint at yet another upcoming Bethesda project for fans to be excited about, with ZeniMax Online Studios confirming that it’s working on a new AAA IP that’s currently in pre-production. The project will be the first new game the studio has worked on since the launch ofThe Elder Scrolls Onlineback in 2014, withthe team bolstering the popular MMO with various expansionssince its initial release date.

As for who ZeniMax Online Studios is looking to hire, there’s a fair few roles available for those interested in joining the team. Positions are listed for roles in the art, engineering, design, and programming departments of the studio, ranging from character artists to lead gameplay camera designers. The positions all claim that applicants will work alongside ZeniMax Online Studios to design the team’s “next AAA game.” Of course, the title is in the very early stages, but regardless, it’s great to see the talented studio looking to take on a major new project after its work onThe Elder ScrollsIP.

Talking about the upcoming project on Twitter, lead graphics Engineer atZeniMax OnlineAlex Tardif stated: “Not much to say about this yet, but it’s been so much fun creating a brand new engine. With how rare this kind of thing is nowadays, I feel fortunate to be at this studio while we invest heavily in our own technology.” It seems the game will be a big technological step up for the studio too, with a new engine meaning Tardif and his team can implement some new advancements while developing their mysterious AAA IP.

Despite a rough start,The Elder Scrolls Onlinehas come into its own in the years since its release, managing to cultivate a strong community filled with dedicated fans. The team also brought out tons of fun expansions for the game, taking players to Black Marsh, Elsweyr, Summerset, and a number of other locations never before seen inThe Elder Scrolls’single-player outings.

Whatever ZeniMax Online does next, it’ll likely have a huge fanbase behind it, even with the project not centering aroundThe Elder Scrollsuniverse. The game already seems destined to be another huge IP to add to Bethesda’s list of all-time greats, so fans should keep their eyes peeled for new information as the project develops.
