Throughout the last few months, fans have gotten plenty of information about its mechanics and roster, with the latter being filled out by a combination of fan favorites and newcomers. The latest trailer shown at Summer Game Fest is focused on the game’s new cinematic story mode, along with some new characters that were revealed for the roster.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zerowill launch on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on July 21, 2025, which was close to aprevious release date leak forSparking Zero. The trailer also shows off a number of classic events and story beats from Dragon Ball’s history, such as Goku’s Sacrifice during the Cell Saga, Goku fighting Raditz for the first time at the start ofDragon Ball Z, and more, recreated in a beautiful cel-shaded art style. Characters like Goku Black and Ultra Instinct Goku were also briefly shown off, with the game’s cinematic story mode also sporting some interesting what-if divergences from the main narrative.
When Does Sparking Zero Release?
Players who opt to pre-order the game will get access to six characters fromSparking Zero’s rosterwhen it releases: Gogeta andDragon Ball Super-era Broly, and their three forms: with Gogeta being represented in his base, Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan Blue forms, while Broly has access to base, Super Saiyan, and Super Saiyan Berserk modes. The trailer also teases one additional character that will be added for pre-ordering the game. There is also a Premium Collector’s Edition, which gives fans a Lenticular card, a steelbook, an exclusive diorama that shows a fight between Ultra Instinct Goku and Super Saiyan Berserk Broly, along with other goodies like bookmarks and exclusive cards for theDragon Ball Card Game.
There is also a digital deluxe edition, which gives fans early access to play the game three days ahead of launch, along with early access toSparking Zero’s season pass DLC. This DLC is going to sport over 20 playable characters, with two of them teased to beGamma 1 and 2 fromDragon Ball Super: Super Hero, along with a season pass bonus that involves summoning Shenron. Fans can also spring for the Ultimate Edition, which contains the aforementioned Deluxe Edition’s contents, as well as a new costume for Goku, customization, and a Super Shenron Summon.
