However, before even attempting to hang out with Gaston or give him gifts to increase the Friendship level,Dreamers must complete a certain Quest that unlocks the character.
While completing aDiamond in the RoughStory Quest, players won’t only get the chance to explore the Cave of Wonders, but they will also unlock the ability to invite Gaston to the Valley.
How To Unlock Gaston In Disney Dreamlight Valley
To unlock Gaston and befriend him, Dreamers must complete theDiamond in the RoughStory Quest inDisney Dreamlight Valley. This particular Quest is triggered after completing a series of Quests upon arriving at Eternity Isle. To trigger Diamond in the Rough, unlock The Plains Biome of Glittering Dunes and follow these steps:
Upon confirming to Jafar that the two pieces of the Scarab Key are found, players must find Gaston and head to the wizard’s vault together. After speaking with Gaston, follow the assembled Scarab Key toThe Wastes area of the Glittering Dunes biome, where the Cave of Wonders will emerge from a pile of sand.
Enter the cave and speak with Jafar via the Hologram Station. The Palace Advisor confesses that the Cave of Wonders is full of puzzles that focus on the displacement of light to stop unwanted visitors. To reach the deepest recess of the Cave of Wanders, Dreamers must solve the light puzzles.
How To Find A Way To Open The First Magical Gate In The Cave Of Wonders
To open the first magical gate, head left towards the Splinters of Fate and remove them. Next,pick up the Power Coilon the ground andplace it in the receptacle. Return to the previous location where Jafar Hologram Station is topull the leveron the right side. This will project a beam of light and shine it at the reflective mirrors, which opens the first magical gate.
How To Find A Way To Open The Second Magical Gate In The Cave Of Wonders
Unlockingthe second magical gate requires extra steps, as players must activate two Light Interrupters.
First Light Interrupter
Head to the room on the right to find an empty Power Coil that’s 0% charged. To charge it, you need torotatethe circular stones on the groundto direct the energy path to the middleby doing the following steps:
Pick up the powered Power Coiland head outside toplace it in the receptaclenear the stairs. Head down the stairs to the narrow space across the receptacle andlift the leverto move the reflective mirror.
Second Light Interrupter
Go to the room found on the left of the magical gate and head down the slope toactivate the first lever. Proceed left into a small corner and remove the Splinters of Fate topull the second hidden lever.
Now that the beam of light is activated, climb the slope and get rid of another batch of Splinters of Fate tofind an Ancient Mirror. Grab it andplace it on the empty spotnear the room’s entrance where the light beam ends.
Upon activating both Light Interrupters, the second gate is unlocked and players can proceed to the deepest part of the Cave of Wonders. Grab the Jewel of Time and then speak with Gaston to complete the Diamond in the Rough Quest, thusunlocking theBeauty and the Beastcharacteras a friend.
