Summary

Bungie releases update 7.3.6.1 forDestiny 2, bringing another wave of tweaks and changes to various activities in the popular game, including a fix for a popular exploit in The Whisper mission. Alongside the new update, this week also added two additional BRAVE weapons to theDestiny 2arsenal. The Mountaintop and Midnight Coup are now available and should players finish the associated quests, they can be attuned and farmed from Onslaught for a chance to earn a holofoil god roll version.

Overall, the Into The Light update has had a very positive impact onDestiny 2as a whole, seemingly reinvigorating the player base. The timing couldn’t be better as The Final Shape is now just weeks away, and a recentDestiny 2stream revealed a ton of new expansion contentincluding an enemy faction called The Dread, as well as a new Prismatic subclass which is able to essentially mix and match any Light and Darkness abilities, leading to some highly customizable player builds. In the meantime, Bungie continues to keep the game updated with thelatest patcharriving this week and making some key tweaks to various areas of the game.

While it may not be anywhere near asbig as Update 7.3.6 was forDestiny 2earlier this month, this latest update does make a number of key changes to the game. For the Crucible, quitter penalties have been expanded to now apply on the account level rather than per character, offering stiffer penalties to try and dissuade those from leaving matches early. After complaints that the unique Iron Banner weapons Tusk of the Boar and Multimach CCX were not rewarded often for players, Bungie has increased the drop rate, so when the Iron Banner comes back one last time this season, players will have a much better chance to earn them.

Destiny 2 Update Fixes The Whisper Mission Cheese

The recently added Into The Light content inDestiny 2has also been tweaked. For Onslaught, two issues were fixed, though the biggest of the pair was one which locked players out from purchasing defensive upgrades if the portal back to the main area closed before they escaped the Pyramid boss rooms. Recently, players discovered a handy cheese that allowed them to earn a number of intrinsic perks for the Whisper of the Worm much earlier than intended just by shooting the Oracles inDestiny 2’s The Whisper exotic mission. Both methods have now been patched out by this latest update, so the quest should now be working as intended.

The highly replayable Onslaught mode continues to keep players busy thanks to how rewarding the experience is in terms of handing out new weapons. The Legend difficulty has also been keeping players busy as they try to figure out the best strategies and loadouts to make it through all 50 waves. One player in particular has recently done what many assumed was impossible, completely soloing the Legend version of Onslaughtusing a Nightstalker Hunter and hand cannon focused build. The achievement left most of the community stunned, with many assuming finishing the activity was really only possible with the aid of a 3 person fireteam.
