Age of Steam Victoria is an alternative Persona for the firstLeader of England inCivilization 6, and focuses on Queen Victoria’s rule during the Industrial Revolution. Despite this late historical setting, Age of Steam Victoria offers bonuses that will be helpful at all stages of a Civilization’s journey.

Victoria shares the same Civilization Ability, Unique Unit, and Unique District as the other Leaders of England, Elizabeth I andEleanor of Aquitaine. However, her Age of Steam Ability grants a massive boost to Production that can turn England into an industrial powerhouse from a very early era.

How to Play as Elizabeth I

Like Eleanor of Aquitaine, Age of Steam Victoria is an English Leader that relies less heavily on naval exploration and Domination. Although players should still take advantage of the powerful Royal Navy Dockyard and Sea Dogs, the massive Production that players can accumulate using Age of Steam will allow them to pursueanyCivilization 6victoryof their choice.

Age of Steam is particularly good when combined with Workshop of the World, which is the English Civ Ability for players who owntheGathering Stormexpansion. These two Abilities combine to grant Age of Steam Victoria a heavy focus on Industrial Zones and Strategic Resources, and exploiting these bonuses can lead to a powerhouse industrial empire.

Age of Steam Victoria players should make sure to include visible Strategic Resources when planning their City expansions, and rush to Apprenticeship tounlock Industrial Zones. With a Workshop, Factory, and Power Plant constructed, Age of Steam Victoria’s Industrial Zones will not only produce massive amounts of Production, but they’ll also grant an additional +30% bonus. Players can then funnel this Production surplus into units for a Domination victory, or into other Districts to pursue a Science or Culture victory.
