Back when integration withCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warfirst began,Call of Duty: Warzonewas confirmed to be getting attack helicopters. Unfortunately, the vehicles were removed fromCall of Duty: Warzonealmost instantly, as a game-breaking was discovered.
For those unfamiliar withCall of Duty: Warzone’s invisibility glitch, the exploit is disturbingly easy to pull off. If players crash an attack helicopter into a wall or floor, switching to the gunner seat as the impact happens, the game loses track of their character model. As a result, the players that crashed the vehicle are entirely invisible, having a clear path to victory due to the unfair advantage.

With Raven Software clearly having issues with the glitch, attack helicopters were removed from the game entirely. This decision came back in December, with the specialized vehicle being left out of the game for more than three full months.Call of Duty: Warzone’s attack helicopters returnedfor the first time earlier this week, though it seems like Raven did not completely solve the issues with them. As soon as the helicopters returned,Call of Duty: Warzoneplayers began going invisible once again.
As such, Raven hascompletely removed attack helicoptersfor the second time. The developer announced the decision via a Twitter post last night, and unsurprisingly, the comments were filled with shocked fans. Players could not seem to believe that the aerial vehicle was taken out of the game for the same type of problem despite having an absence that lasted several months. Considering that it took Raven three months to bring back the vehicle, it seems a bit confusing how the same kind of glitch can still be seen.
That said, this is not unheard of forCall of Duty: Warzone. Another invisibility glitch saw theArmored Royale game mode permanently removedfrom the rotation, and it may not be long before the attack helicopter suffers the same fate. Also caused by vehicles, players could make themselves disappear just by parking next to a wall and exiting the truck, with the mode eventually needing to be removed due to the glitch’s prevalence. Outside of invisibility exploits, the dreaded stim glitch has appeared inCall of Duty: Warzoneseven different times. With several nagging bugs, this is unfortunately becoming a trend, and players are upset that so many issues are continuing to re-appear.
WhileCall of Duty: Warzonecheatersare deserving of blame for using the exploit, it is hard to think of a reason as to why the attack helicopter was brought back in the first place. After all, the issue clearly was not fixed — though hopefully it will be if the helicopter variant ever returns.
