Call of Duty: Warzone 2has officially revealed the Ashika Island map that’s coming to the battle royale on February 15 as part of the game’s Season 2 update.Call of Duty: Warzone 2launched with the large-scale Al Mazrah map, leaving those who preferredWarzone 1’s small-scale Rebirth Island map disappointed. Luckily, those that prefer a smaller-scale battle royale experience will soon be able to check out Ashika Island inWarzone 2.

Activision has been teasing the addition of asmall map toWarzone 2for quite some time. After all, there were many who preferred Rebirth Island in the originalCall of Duty: Warzone, especially when compared to the divisive Caldera map. It remains to be seen howCall of Duty: Warzone 2players will ultimately react to Ashika Island when it’s added to the game on February 15, but it looks promising at first glance.

TheCall of Duty: Warzone 2Ashika Island map will consist of seven POIs: Oganikku Farms, Residential, Town Center, Tsuki Castle, Shipwreck, Beach Club, and Port Ashika. Like theAl Mazrah map, some of these locations should be familiar to longtime fans of theCall of Dutyseries. Tsuki Castle is clearly based on the classic map Castle fromCall of Duty: World at War. It’s unclear if Castle will eventually make its way to theCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2multiplayer as well.

The new Ashika Island map will be one of the biggest additions to theCall of Dutyexperience when Season 2 launches on February 15, but there should be plenty more in store for fans.Call of Duty: Warzone 2is expected to implement many important changeswith its Season 2 update, including bug fixes and tweaks based on fan feedback. Full patch notes are not available at the time of this writing, but needless to say, February 15 will be an exciting day forCall of Dutyfans.

Ashika Island should provide some variety forCall of Duty: Warzone 2players that are tired of playing on Al Mazrah or who are simply looking for a smaller map to battle it out on. It’s possible that even more maps are on the way. Recent surveys have suggested thatCall of Duty: Warzone 2could bring back older BR mapsfrom previousCall of Dutygames, with Verdansk and its variations, Blackout fromBlack Ops 4, and even the controversial Caldera map all cited as possibilities. For now,Call of Dutyfans can look forward to the addition of the Ashika Island map toWarzone 2come February 15.
