Call of Duty: Vanguarddidn’t quite live up to the publisher’s expectations. Its sales fell short ofBlack Ops: Cold WarandModern Warfare, withActivision blamingVanguard’s disappointing sales on theWorld War 2setting. However, it remains an integral part ofCall of Duty: Warzone, which has risen to be one of the top contenders in the crowded battle royale market.
Activision will probably be supportingCall of Duty: VanguardandWarzonefor a while, with the latest batch of new content coming next week. The Terminator arrives inVanguardandWarzoneas part of the “Mercenaries of Fortune” update launching on July 27th.

The update goes live forVanguardat 9 AM PT on the 26th and arrives forWarzoneat 9 AM PT on the 27th. It introduces a new map, a new assault rifle, new playlists, and three new Operators includingThe Terminator’s T-800 andThe Terminator 2’s T-1000.WarzoneandVanguardfans will be able to acquire both through paid Operator Bundles. These ten-item packs include a unique Finishing Move, Legendary Weapon Blueprints, and various cosmetic items and weapon attachments.

Task Force Immortal is also getting a new, non-mechanical Operator named Ikenna Olowe. A Nigerian chess master, martial artist, and battlefield engineer, players can unlock bonus XP by equipping him with the new Vargo-S Assault Rifle.Call of Duty: VanguardandWarzoneare also getting a new multiplayer map called Desolation. Players will engage in frantic close-quarters combat as they traverse the maze-like alleyways of a tropical mountainside village.
Players will also have a new way to get around the massive Caldera Map with Portable Redeploy Balloons and the addition of a nitro boost toWarzone’s armored SUV. Meanwhile, those who want to experience a Terminator’s durability can also check out the Caldera’s upcoming Titanium Trials. This limited-time mode boost player’s maximum base armor threshold to 300 and significantly increases the drop rate for the Tempered Perk. Each player also starts with a Self-Revive Kit. It will be available for two weeks beginning August 11th.
The developers haven’t forgotten aboutCall of Duty’s Zombieseither, with new content coming toWarzoneandVanguard. A new event lets players find cursed chests scattered around Fortune’s Keep. Players can collect Wisps by killing zombies to collect the chest’s rare loot. Meanwhile, Rebirth Island is getting a new Rebirth of the Dead mode. It is a battle royale between ten squads of four, with dead Operators returning as zombies.
Finally, Activision’s offering an exclusive Skin, Weapon Blueprint, and 1,500 COD points to players that pre-orderthe upcomingModern Warfare 2. However,VanguardandWarzoneplayers have plenty of new stuff to check out either way.
