Since its launch, one of the most popular new game modes inCall of Duty: Modern Warfarehas been Gunfight and its variations.Call of Duty: Modern Warfarefans will be happy to know that even more Gunfight content is coming in Season 2, including even more variants on the game mode that will switch things up.
While we don’t know what form future Gunfight variants will take, Infinity Ward has already released a new way to play Gunfight as part of Season 2. Right now, there is a special3v3 Gunfightplaylist that’s Snipers Only, significantly ramping up the intensity of the game mode. Infinity Ward tends to change theModern Warfareplaylists on Tuesdays, so it’s possible that this mode will only be available until next week.

It’s also possible future Gunfight variants will bring back past remixes on the mode.Gunfight Grindproved to be quite popular, and maybe Infinity Ward will bring back Gunfight OSP. But no matter what new version of Gunfight Infinity Ward introduces toCall of Duty: Modern Warfare, fans can count on the regular 2v2 Gunfight to stay in the game.
That’s because Infinity Ward’s decision to replace 2v2 Gunfight withGunfight OSPa few months ago was met with severe backlash from the community. Even top streamers like Ninja spoke out against the decision. Eventually, Infinity Ward brought regular Gunfight back to the game, though Gunfight OSP has been nowhere to be seen since. It’s not necessarily that fans didn’t like Gunfight OSP as an option, but they definitely didn’t like it completely replacing regular Gunfight.
It will be interesting to see what new ways Infinity Ward comes up with when it comes to putting together new Gunfight variants. In the meantime, there will be other new game modes coming toModern WarfareSeason 2 as well. One of the most exciting isInfected Ground War, which will combine the large-scale battles and maps from Ground War with the zombie-themed gameplay of the standard Infected match type.
Modern WarfareSeason 2will also be adding new maps for players as well, including a new Gunfight map called Bazaar. Players can also look forward to Gunfight Tournaments making a return at some point in the future, so there is plenty for fans to get excited about this season.
