Released in 2015,Call of Duty: Black Ops 3was the third game in theBlack Opspart of the franchise and developer Treyarch Corporation’s sixth entry in theCall of Dutyseries. The game took place roughly forty years after the events ofCall of Duty: Black Ops 2and focused on a cold war that had developed between two global alliances. Like previous entries, it also included a Zombies mode.
Originally introduced in Treyarch’sCall of Duty: World at War, a zombie horde mode has become a mainstay of the franchise. The mode was so popular that to this day people still play theZombies mode in theCall of Dutygame. InBlack Ops 3, Verruckt was one of the less popular maps in the game, but it includes aBreaking Badreference that some might have missed.

Breaking Badwas a show that was full of colorful antagonists. The most memorable was probably Giancarlo Esposito’s Gus Fring who still wants aBreaking Badprequel based around his character. The story would likely involve his rival Hector Salamanca who may have had an appearance in the Verruckt Zombies map ofCall of Duty: Black Ops 3. In a recent post, Reddit user FreshSqueezedDoms posted an image of something that they came across in Verruckt. Specifically, it shows a man handcuffed to a wheelchair with a sun hat on and made the comparison to Hector Salamanca’s look in the show.
InBreaking Bad, Hector Salamanca was played by Mark Margolis and was something of an enigmatic figure in the series. Wheelchair-bound and unable to speak, the character and his family clearly had some kind of antagonist relationship with Gus Fring. This was further expanded upon inBetter Call Sauland involved Lalo Salamanca’s fate in the series. Hector ultimately got the last laugh when he teamed up with Walter White and killed Gus in the fourth season finale ofBreaking Bad.
SinceBreaking Badended, Giancarlo Esposito’s resume has expanded quite a bit. He frequently plays villain roles in other series, like Moff Gideon in theStar WarsseriesThe Mandalorian. In addition, theBreaking Badstar played theprimary antagonist inFar Cry 6. Mark Margolis has, as of this writing, only lent his talents to the industry once for the 2002 gameManhunt. While his on-screen rival’s career may be flourishing, currently Margolis is the only one who can say his character may have been in aCall of Duty Zombies mode.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3is now available on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
