Bugsnaxis a unique indie game from Young Horses that is hard to classify under one genre. It has some elements of a puzzle adventure game, but it could most easily be described as a collect-a-thon. That is because the game is all about gathering different creatures by using the tools given to the player.

Collect-a-thons are a lot of fun to fully complete, and the achievements forBugsnaxare not so difficult to drive people away from getting them all. Some specific achievements could be time-consuming, but those who really love exploring Snaktooth Island should be in for a treat.

Everybody Gets One (Bronze)

Catch your first Bugsnak.

During the tutorial, Filbo will ask the player to catch a Strabby. Simply place the Snak Trap in a way that the Strabby walks into it and then catch it.

Gone Home (Bronze)

Find your way to Snaxburg.

Complete the “Filbo Leads The Way” and “Wambus Goes To Seed” main quests, as well as the “Higher Learning!” objectives for Beffica.

Wonderfalls (Bronze)

Check behind the waterfall for secrets.

When facing the two waterfallsin Flavor Falls, enter the one on the player’s left. This will take players to an area with a statue to scan as well as a way to get up higher.

Quartermaster (Bronze)

Catch 25 unique species of Bugsnax.

Players will have access to catch 25 different species of Bugsnax as soon as they unlock Simmering Springs.

Double Trapper (Bronze)

Catch more than one Bugsnak in your Snak Trap at once.

This could be done in multiple ways, the easiest of which is getting two friendlier Bugsnax to walk into the Snak Trap by covering it in a sauce both Bugsnax like. It does not need to be two different types of creatures.

I’m Stuffed (Silver)

Fully transform a Grumpus.

Players will need to feed the Grumpus 14 Bugsnax in order to fully transform them. The body parts that must be transformed include both upper arms, both lower arms, both upper legs, both lower legs, two sides of their head, the top of their head, their nose, their teeth, and finally their torso to complete the transformation.

Halfway There (Silver)

Catch 50 unique species of Bugsnax.

Players will have access to catch 50 different species of Bugsnax as soon as they unlockSugarpine Woods.

Perf Dirt (Bronze)

Steal Beffica’s diary from her cave.

In Garden Grove, Beffica’s cave is located next to the exit heading towards Snaxburg. When inside the cave, players will find her diary sitting on the shelving unit next to her bed. It is a vibrant purple with her name on it.

Launch Party (Silver)

Stun a flying Bugsnak by launching another Bugsnak at it.

Using the Lunchpad, players will need to get a Bugsnak on the pad to launch them into the air, aimed at the flying Bugsnak. The best place to do that is in Scorched Gorge, using a Spuddy to knocka Cheepoofout of the air. Players can use ketchup or cheese to attract the Spuddy. Players must make sure to aim the Lunchpad ahead of time.

In The Arms of the Gramble (Silver)

Players must donate a total of 36 bugs to Gramble’s ranch. There are three levels to these donations, with the reward for reaching each minimum more space for Bugsnax in the player’s inventory. The donation requirements are set at 6, 12, and 18.

Talkin' Bout Bugsnax (Silver)

Interview every Grumpus

Players must take time to interview all 11 Grumpuses that live in Snaxburg once the player brings all of them back. In addition, players must interview Eggabell in Frosted Peaks despite her not returning before the end of the game. Lizbert is excluded.

Know Thy Neighbor (Bronze)

Return every Grumpus to Snaxburg.

There are a total of 11 Grumpuses that can be returned to Snaxburg: Filbo, Wambus, Beffica, Gramble, Wiggle, Triffany, Cromdo, Chandlo, Snorpy, Shelda, and Floofty

That Reminds Me of a Puzzle (Bronze)

Solve the secret of the lava cave or the secret of the dunes.

Players can earn this two ways. One is to go to the lava cave in Boiling Bay and interact with the Cocomite statues. If players activate them in the correct order of least to most straws, a pathway will open that will leadto Sizzlin' Sands. The other way is by going to the left side of Sizzlin' Sands where four Incherrito statues are. If all four statues are turned to face each other in the circle, a pathway will open that will lead to Boiling Bay.

Bossy Bugs (Gold)

Defeat all of the Legendary Bugsnax.

There are four Legendary Bugsnax in the game that require this achievement:Mama Mewon, Megamaki,Mothza Supreme, and Daddy Cakelegs. To fight these Bugsnax, players must complete all of the side quests of Chandlo, Wiggle, Cromdo, and Snorpy, respectively. Cheddaboardle Rex does not count for this achievement.

Vacation’s End (Gold)

Complete the main story of Bugsnax.

Once all 11 Grumpuses are back in Snaxburg, and they are all interviewed, Filbo will invite the player to a celebration that will kick off the end game of Bugsnax. After completing the final set of missions that follow, players will earn this achievement.

Combo Meal (Bronze)

Transform a Grumpus with Bunger, Fryder, and Sodie.

Bunger, Fryder, and Sodie can all be found in Garden Grove. Once caught, talk to one Grumpus and feed all three to them.

Sidetracked (Gold)

Complete all of the side quests.

There are a total of 10 Grumpuses that have side quests: Wambus, Beffica, Gramble, Wiggle, Triffany, Cromdo, Chandlo, Snorpy, Shelda, and Floofty. Completing all 10 will earn the player the achievement. Filbo and Eggabell do not have any side quests, and the quests on Broken Tooth Island are not included.

Documentarian (Silver)

Watch all of Lizbert’s video diaries.

There are six video diaries. Video Diary #1 is found easily in Lizbert and Eggabell’s hut. Video Diary #2 is found in Liz’s cabinet usingthe keyBeffica gives the player after her interview. Video Diary #3 is in Eggabell’s chest in the hut after getting the key from Chandlo’s interview. Video Diary #4 is located in Sugarpine Woods immediately to the right of the entrance. Video Diary #5 is located in Shelda’s locked box, which requires a key from Floofty’s interview. Video Diary #0 is given to the player by Eggabell after their second interview. All diaries can be viewed using the projector in the first room of Lizbert and Eggabell’s hut.

Midnight Snak (Bronze)

Transform Gramble.

Gramble is one of the few Grumpuses that players will need to take alternative measures to feed. Once he is in Snaxburg, Gramble sleep walks starting around midnight. While he is asleep, players can feed him whatever Bugsnak they would like. Just feeding him one will unlock the achievement.

Survivor(Gold)

All of the Grumpuses survive.

During the final mission, Players will have to defend the Grumpuses from an assault by the Bugsnax. Players cankeep them aliveby either having completed all of their side quests (excluding those on Broken Tooth) or by keeping the creatures from entering their bodies.

Candid Cryptid (Silver)

Scan the Snaxsquatch.

Players will need tospot the Snaxsquatchand be able to catch them with the SnaxScope before they disappear. There are six general opportunities to catch the creature, but when it shows up is often random:

There is also an opportunity during the “Snaxburg Gets Spooked” story event before getting firewood. If players turn their camera around, they could spot the Snaxsquatch behind Cromdo’s hut. He is also seen multiple times while traversing The Undersnax.

Got to Catch Them All (Gold)

Catch 100 unique species of Bugsnax.

Players will have access to catch 100 different species of Bugsnax as soon as they unlock Boiling Bay, Sizzlin' Sands, and Frosted Peaks. Players will need to complete certain side questlines to unlock access to Legendary Bugsnax (Chandlo, Wiggle, Cromdo, and Snorpy) and Broken Tooth Island (Snorpy, Chandlo, Triffany, Floofty, and Shelda).

Deep Impact (Silver)

Complete the adventure at Broken Tooth.

To gain access to Broken Tooth, players must complete the side questlines of Snorpy, Chandlo, Triffany, Floofty, and Shelda. Once on the island, players will have additional quests from Chandlo, Triffany, Floofty, and Shelda. These all must be completed to unlock the island’s finale: facing the Cheddaboardle Rex. Following this mission, players should get the achievement.

Grab Bag (Silver)

Empty one biome of all its Snakpods.

Snakpods are usually stuck on walls and ceilings around a particular area. There are a total of five for each area and once one is caught, they will not respawn until the other four are also caught.

Say Cheese! (Bronze)

Scan a Grumpus after saucing them with cheese.

To get cheese initially, players will need to use their Snakgrappler to grab the sauce from the cliff side on the right of Sizzlin' Sands. If Shelda isn’t back in Snaxburg yet, players can hit her with the sauce and scan her using the SnaxScope.

Clothesline (Silver)

Stun a Bugsnak with the Trip Shot attached to your Buggy Ball.

Players can do this to almost any ground Bugsnak in the game that isn’t on fire or frozen. Simply place boththe Trip Shotand Buggy Ball down, then aim the trip shot at the Buggy Ball. From there, guide the Buggy Ball so that the wire of the Trip Shot hits the Bugsnak that players are looking to catch.

Feeding Frenzy (Gold)

Fully transform every Grumpus.

There are 11 Grumpuses that can be transformed: Filbo, Wambus, Beffica, Gramble, Wiggle, Triffany, Cromdo, Chandlo, Snorpy, Shelda, and Floofty. Players will need to feed each Grumpus 14 Bugsnax in order to fully transform them. Eggabell does not count towards the achievement.

Live Laugh Hut (Gold)

Fully Furnish your hut.

Players will likely need to upgrade their hut to a second floor, which is done after completing 50 letter requests. The goal is to have enough decorations to fill every blue shape that has a white dashed outline. Players will need to obtain one of each furniture item through letter requests: Exterior, Interior, Wall, Decor, Roof, Furniture, Trinket, Ceiling, Rug, Hanging, Bed, Garden, and Lawn. The achievement will pop once the final place of decoration is filled.

Sundae Best (Silver)

Transform a Grumpus with Scoopy, Banopper, and Cheery.

Players will find each of these Bugsnax in Frosted Peaks, but they do not spawn naturally. Instead, players will need aScoopy Banoopyto break apart. To do this, lead a Scoopy Banoopy toa nearby fireeither naturally or through a trip shot. Then, let its bomb timer run out to see it break apart into the three creatures. After catching these Bugsnax individually, go to one Grumpus and feed all three to them.

Dapper Capper (Silver)

Collect 10 hats.

Players will have to randomly stumble upon their first hat. Once they capture a creature with a hat on, players will notice a hat board on the outside of Gramble’s ranch where the pen is. It is here players can be notified where the next hat is in the world. Once players see a photo of the area where the hat is, players should make their way there quickly and find a Bugsnak with a hat to catch them. Do this enough times to get 10 different hats.

Bugsnax Master (Platinum)

Obtain all of the trophies.

Complete every achievement, excluding “Deep Impact,” “Live Laugh Hut,” and “Dapper Capper.” Exclusive to PS4 and PS5 players.
