Players will want to invest in heat-resistant gear before traversing the desert. There are several Shrines in the wasteland, but they’re all hidden and tied to sidequests/Shrine Quests.
The Seven Heroines is one of the Shrine Quests closer toBreath of the Wild’s Gerudo Desert Gateway. Players will need to solve a puzzle in order to reveal the Shrine. Although Link can complete this quest at any time, it’s better to start it later in a playthrough.

Where is the Seven Heroines Shrine Quest?
The Seven Heroines Shrine Quest iseast of Gerudo TownandKara Kara Bazaar. The statues can be found in theEast Gerudo Ruins. Since Link can’t walk/sprint very fast in the sand, it’s easier to take a Sand Seal out to the East Gerudo Ruins. There are two Sand Seals outside Gerudo Town. Crouch bypressing down on the left stick, thenslowly approach the seal. Once Link is close enough, press A-button.
If Link has the Gerudo Setand can enter Gerudo Town, there’s a Gerudo near the left entrance who trains Sand Seals. Speak to her and Link can rent one for20 rupees. Although they’re just as timid as wild Sand Seals, Gerudo Town seals won’t flee from Link if he’s thrown off by an enemy.

When riding Sand Seals, make sure Link’s equipped shield isn’t ready to break. Players may want to use common shields (ex: Bokoblin Shield) when sledding with Sand Seals.
Alternatively, players can reach their destination by flying south from theGerudo Tower. In fact, it’s recommended to approach this trial from the mountains than it is to enter from the desert.

Players will need the following to complete the Shrine Quest:
Link won’t need to talk to anyone to start the Shrine Quest, but he may get clues about the Seven Heroines if he speaks to some of the NPCs in Gerudo Town.

Where’s the Eighth Heroine?
There are actually Eight Heroines in the Gerudo Wasteland, but for some reason, the Eighth Heroine is nowhere to be seen. Her statue is located in the opposite direction of the East Gerudo Ruins. North of theGerudo Highlands, players will find the statue in the crevice northwest of Gerudo Summit. If players have theCameraRune, snap a picture of it from bust to head. There’s a man named Bozai outside Gerudo Townwho will give Link the Sand Bootsas thanks for locating the Eighth Heroine.
While players are in the Gerudo Highlands, backtrack to theGerudo Summitand look for abroken sword statue. This is the Eighth Heroine’s sword. It’s unknown how it got to where it is, but take a picture anyway. After getting the Sand Boots, Bozai will send Link back to the Gerudo Highlands to locate the heroine’s sword. As a reward, Link will get the Snow Boots.
Players should note thatit isn’t necessary to locate the Eighth Heroine to complete Korsh O’hu’s Shrine Quest. If they don’t want Sand Boots or Snow Boots, then they can ignore the Eighth Heroine sidequest entirely. However, wearing Sand Boots or Snow Boots will allow Link to walk/run much easier in sand and snow respectively. Thus,if players intend on exploringthe Hebra Region or Gerudo Wasteland on foot, then it’s recommended to find the Eighth Heroine and complete these two sidequests.
