Unfortunately, the Chinese game doesn’t have a lot of media coverage, so its release wasn’t a catalyst to thousands of articles and video content. And while the world ofSword and Fairyis more than familiar for fans of the series, there are some things they should prepare for before diving into the story. And for newcomers to the franchise, this article is the gateway to the colorful fantasy world known asSword and Fairy.
6Only 45% Of Achievements Are Unmissable - Don’t Miss The Rest!
In total, there are 37 achievements in the game, but out of these only 17 are part of the main storyline. And because only these are unmissable, players need to be vigilant to catch the rest and complete the game with 100% of the achievements.
Other than the 17 main story achievements, there are:
While it’s not crucial to get them all, it makes the gaming experience that much more enjoyable, so it’s wise to keep an eye open for these side-quests and other missable tasks. But don’t worry, if someone missed a few at the beginning of the game - or perhaps the entirety of the game, they can still go back and complete them all after finishing the game.
5It Helps To Have Knowledge Of Chinese Fantasy
Loyal to its predecessors,Sword and Fairy 7isheavily packed with story. This might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but certainly is one of the biggest selling points of the franchise. The characters are all incredibly well-made and likable, the story is beautifully written, and the entire thing is balanced out perfectly with an exciting gameplay style.

That being said, it might help to have a general knowledge of Chinese fantasy. Although the story stands well on its own,Sword and Fairy 7introduces players to a typical Chinese fantasy drama, similar to practically any Chinese soap opera. People with a general knowledge of the art could have a better understanding of the tropes of the story and can appreciate the writing even more.
4Explore The Open-World Environment
The story-packed game ofSword and Fairy 7commands a narratively-rich environment. And while theopen-world gameplayis fairly limited, it doesn’t seem to be at all due to all the action and adventure found in neighboring areas. Players are free to explore the surrounding environment, looking for side quests and other challenges along the way.

Everything has a natural flow, but players aren’t forced to follow an exact direction at all times. Quests don’t have to leave an impact on the gameplay, and they can be completed easily, whenever the player feels like dealing with them. The entire experience is made even easier by the map system that tells players where to go and keeps track of all main and side missions. Put simply, fans should take their time and experience the game world’s offerings slowly and methodically.
3Get Acquainted With The Weapon And Gear System
Players love to see a game with a logical structure for weapons and gear. Thankfully, the developers ofSword and Fairy 7took their time creating the most ideal system for these. There are various upgrades available for gears and weapons that players can obtain and use. However, these will only come in handyafter a few hours of playing, so people have time to think about what they need to collect and what they want to focus on in the future.
The opening hours of the game will mostly feature dungeons and therefore don’t command a lot of weapons and gear. Knowing this, players have the luxury of planning ahead and taking their time to think about the strategies they’d like to follow.

2Practice With The Control Scheme
After the first (up to) ten hours of the game, the real combat experiencebegins, and players will need their weapons and gears. Not only that, they’ll need to learn a range of movements and combinations that evolve throughout the gameplay.

The character’s skills will consist of strong and weak attacks andmagical skills. The combos in the game will have to become like second nature to the player if they want to quickly sail through challenges, and because these combos evolve, sometimes it’s hard to keep track of it all. The control scheme of the game isn’t the simplest, but players get the hang of it over time. In short, practice in the early-going is essential.
1More Experienced Players Might Want To Crank Up The Difficulty
In normal difficulty, even the most challenging enemies won’t cause players to break a sweat. This isn’t a bad thing, as some players prefer an easier game, especially for new fans that are just starting out with video games. But for those who aremore experienced and like a challenge, it’s best to just take it into your own hands and crank up the difficulty.
Boss attacks are exciting due to the more wide range of movement and combinations, and over time, some random enemy attacks may be harder to dodge, but it doesn’t get harder than that. Overall, combat is enjoyable and works well with the story. It also doesn’t get in the way of explorations, which is a plus. There are a lot of treasures and hidden items to be found all over the place, and the bigger the loot, the stronger the surrounding enemy becomes.
