Plenty of video games receive patch updates to improve their gameplay quality and fix issues, andAssassin’s Creed Valhallais no exception. Even with the upcomingSiege of ParisDLC forAssassin’s Creed Valhalla, the game still has plenty of issues that the developers plan to address.

Recently, the patch notes for the 1.2.2 update toAssassin’s Creed Valhallawere announced and will address various issues in the game. The new 1.2.2 patch will be going live tomorrow on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Ubisoft Connect, Epic Games Store, Stadia, and Amazon Luna. The patch size for Xbox Series X/S will be 18.7 GB, 13.5 GB on the Xbox One, 5-13 GB on the PS4 depending on the region, 5.32 GB on the PS5, and 14.14 GB on PC.

Unlike previous updates for the game, the patch notes for the latest update are shown to be more lengthy than previous ones. The new major content as part of the patch will be the Ostara Season: Mastery Challenge Game Mode. As part of the patch update, it will add in-game support forMastery Challenge inAssassin’s Creed Valhalla.

According to the patch notes, players will be sent on a quest by an ancient art master to prove their worth by completing a series of trials transcending reality. There is the Trial of the Bear where players test their strength, the Trial of the Wolf that tests their marksmanship, and the Trial of the Raven to test players' stealth. By completing the trials, players can unlock unique rewards that will display their rank of Mastery and provide more combat options in the game.

There will also be numerous shrines hidden throughout the world for players to find and each of them will have three trials. to access Mastery Challenge, players must at least have the Power Level 221 and completed the main quest Uninvited Guests after reporting on Grantebridgescire and Ledecestrescire. The 1.2.2 patch will also refreshRiver Raids inAssassin’s Creed Valhalla. Rivers at higher alerts will have higher rewards, Jomsvikings’ attack power will be balanced, and Wayland’s armor will be available to purchase from Vagn’s Store using Foreign cargo.

The 1.2.2 patch will add three new gameplay skills for players to use as Eivor in theAssassin’s Creed Valhalla. The patch will also add various gameplay improvements, such as increasing the rune list cap from 100 to 300, and map packs display relevant icons in Ireland. It also addresses issues with the Blacksmith Hammer, the Photo Mode UI, and the Settlement pets.

The patch will balance out various issues inAssassin’s Creed Valhalla. Some notable fixes are for issues with Feign Death, Ullr’s Bow ability damage bonus, and Sinner Skull’s perk not working properly. The patch will also address many issues withtheWrath of the DruidsDLC expansion, such as combat issues in The Cost of Betrayal quest, the issue with rumbling controllers, and many others.

The patch notes also include a long list of issues in the Main Game that will be addressed in the 1.2.2 patch forAssassin’s Creed Valhalla. It will cover Quests, World Events, Side Activities, Gameplay, Combat, AI, Performance and Stability, and many more.
